Not too bad

The apartment is beautiful but the couches are old and dirty they need to be changed as in 3years ago. Bedding also old please get warm duvets. Cleaning lady not friendly at all, doesn’t greet she needs classes for that, otherwise the apartments are in a nice area except it’s very noisy around there bcse they are not sound proof u can hear everything happening outside and in the pub next to it.

AWEFUL STAY EVER!

I booked last minute and didn’t receive his email that I need to pick up key in different place. I told him that I dont have cash in South Africa due to safety reason and he yelled over the phone that “I am general manager of the company and you ask me leave my office to deliver the key at apartment. No I wont give you the key and booking is non refundable, you wont get money back.” as he uses to yell to his customers during check in time! He does business in hospitality industry but he has no idea what to do and “I don’t care” or, “you are killing me” when I request key at apartment. I had to contact to hotels.com and he only came after they talk to him. The facilities of apartment is tired: cabpet is old and sofas are broken. “This internet is only for check mail. If you watch YouTube, film, download / upload, I will charge you. These sofabed can not convert to be a bed as it is broken, if you try to conver it, I will charge you... the building has car parking for this apartment, If you park you have to pay 50R per day to ME”. Well all is he wants to save the cost and collect extra money from customers as much as he can. Bye bye Greece Dad never see you again! I strongly NOT RECOMMEND this place.

Zentralnah aber enttäuschend

Das Dockside Apparment liegt sehr zentral und sowohl Waterfront als auch Longstreet sind gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. An Erholung war jedoch nicht zu denken, es ist einfach nur laut, und dass nicht von der angrenzenden Hauptstraße, sondern im Haus. Lüften geht gar nicht, weil sonst ist es noch lauter. Weder die Terassentüren noch die Fenster im Schlafzimmer sind 100%ig dicht, so dass es immer durchgepfiffen hat. Gut dass wir nur 2 abschließende Nächte dort verbracht haben, für den Preis hätten wir leichter ein richtiges Hotelzimmer mit Frühstücksbüffett genommen.

Dockside prison

On check in a few miles from location the check in was over an hour long. Driving to the hotel to then have a shower the running water was like sewerage, dirty and brown, could not use shower or clean teeth in the basin water disgusting. Bed linen not adequate, dirty, dirty towels, Lounge chair sofa beds x2, one sheet and one blanket for two children on one sofa bed, and for the second sofa bed only one sheet only for my third child, very cold, pillows old and damp and mouldy. MY WIFE AND I HAD TO PURCHASE SHEETS, PILLOWS AND BLANKETS the next morning from Sheet Street, were also had to complain and were moved into a next room the next day, whilst again waiting for 2 hours.

We came for personal reasons and stayed for one night. We were satisfied with the condition of the apartment and it was a safe convenient location.

Helt ok leilighet, men null info om innsjekking o.L Utleier hadde sendt meg en e-post med informasjon om hvor vi måtte hente nøkkel etc. - hvilket var et godt "Taxistykket" unna - alt i alt et klønete opplegg dersom du skal bo ett sted for en natt slik vi skulle, men for noen som liker å bo i leilighet fremfor hotell er dette sikker ypperlig, treningsrom, basseng (lite) og vakt 24h så kan for noen dette passe fint. For oss var dette totalt skivebom.

PROS: pictures as displayed on Hotels.com are exactly what you get - no hidden surprises. the apartment was extremely spacious including well sized bathrooms. amazing views of the city as Table Mountain. CONS: poor communication with the aparment manager which included an unecessary long check-in process which was intimidating and not very professional.

Convenient location, pleasant accommodation. Negative was cumbersome and inconvenient check in process. No on site assistance and had to travel to owner for access keys.

Dockside - Convenient and cheap but not optimal

When I arrived there was no concierge or check-in counter, only building security, as this is a large residential apartment complex with only a few rental units. The manager of the units comprising Dockside Apartments is offsite and no instructions on where to meet to check in were provided in advance. It took an hour for me to get access to the unit. The units are large, but the beds are not comfortable and the pillows are very hard. There is only a single sheet on the bed, together with a worn duvet (no slip cover, and cleanliness was questionable). The unit had a functioning refrigerator but no dishwasher or washing machine in the space provided. There is no air conditioning and traffic noise is loud with the windows open. The bathroom was sparse, with mixed colour towels that were rough to the touch. Only a single bar of soap was provided, so guests should be advised to bring their own shampoo, conditioner and any other amenities. In terms of restaurants in close proximity, there is a bar next door which did not look like somewhere I would want to frequent but a reasonable pizza place a 5 minute walk away. Dockside Apartments is only a 20 minute walk from the V&A Waterfront which has a large selection of restaurants. Getting a taxi from this location is difficult, and the easiest alternative is to take a 7-10 minute walk to one of the nearby hotels. In conclusion, you get what you pay for with Dockside Apartments. Anticipate having to check in offsite or go through considerable hassle on arrival, and come prepared with any amenities.

Nice apartment, challenging check-in

While the apartment was as-described on the website, the check-in process was not described on Expedia and was quite complicated. As no instructions for arrival were included on Expedia or in the confirmation emails that were sent before arrival, we planned to head directly to the hotel from the airport. Fortunately, we decided to rent a car rather than take the airport shuttle to the city center, as when we called to ask about parking, we were informed that we had to retrieve the keys and complete the check-in process at another location approximately three miles from the hotel. The property manager claimed he had emailed instructions the day before, but they were never received. In any case, this information would have been important to know well in advance to make appropriate arrangements. After we managed to get directions over the phone to meet the property manager, the check-in process took over an hour. The apartment itself was in fine condition, though only two shabby towels and one set of well-worn (and somewhat stained) linens were provided for our stay. The apartment was furnished with minimal cookware and enough mismatched dishes for two people to have one meal. The location was good, squeezed between the CBD, De Waterkant and the V&A Waterfront. Unfortunately, our stay was soured on arrival. I would not recommend this accommodation in the future.
