"We have loved coming to the Hoi Toider for several summers now. The coziness of the home mixed with the cleanliness makes for the best place to relax. The island is far enough away from most things that you truly feel a weight lifted off of you when you cross the bridge. Chris and his family have been so welcoming to us and we are so thankful. We will be coming back for as long as they let us!"

"Wow, the mosquitoes here are no joke... we couldn't believe how hungry they were. Didn't matter how strong the wind... stand still and you'd be covered!Once inside, though... calm tranquility! Beds were clean and soft. Everything found as described. We spent a long Labor Day weekend cooking our fill of crab, clams, and mussels (found off the long pier nearby), and we found everything we could need in the kitchen! A nice lady two doors down reassured us that it was okay for us to fish off the wooden pier, but no luck catching anything with fins... maybe St. Sammy requires a more substantial blood sacrifice than what the skeeters stole?Spent a whole day on Cape Lookout... caught a couple dozen baitfish near the Historic Village, but our surf fishing was cut short because of a weird red seaweed that would collect into a slimy mass around the bait and weight... yuck! Maybe the seaweed will disappear when the weather turns colder?Anyways, we enjoyed ourselves immensely and hope to be back next year!"

"This was my first ever Vrbo rental and it did not disappoint. The house and location was the perfect getaway with my two children. If you prefer a small vacation town over the hustle and bustle of a typical shore town or resort, then I highly recommend Harkers Island. The host, Greg and Shelby, were great and made the cottage feel like my own. Any question I had was answered within minutes. Again, this was the perfect house and destination for my one week get-away"

"The property was spacious and very clean plus conveniently located to the ferry. The kitchen was roomy and provided everything needed to cook with to eat in, which we took full advantage of. The hosts were great and responded right away. We did several trips out to Shackleford Island and Cape Lookout, plus drove into Morehead City to explore the area. Having laundry on site was wonderful, especially after visiting the beaches. This is a great place to stay for a relaxing get away. We highly recommend it!"
