Comfortable little apartment for us to meet our friends for an overnight getaway! Great location! The furniture was comfortable for us to sit around and talk, and beds were comfortable for sleeping! We would do it again!
Place is charming, house was clean and location nice… BUT.. none of us slept the entire trip! Walls and windows are super thin so you can hear everything happening outside! Being downtown, people are everywhere socializing and it was so loud! The train runs every morning, blowing its horn at 4am!! Don’t expect a good night’s rest here!

Easy check inHost gave plenty of recommendations Host checked to make sure everything went smoothClean cozy placeGreat neighborhood Bars and restaurants within walking distance
What a great spot! We loved the upstairs apartment. It was the perfect size for our group of 6. The location can’t be beat! Everything was very easy, beds comfy, kitchen large and living room spacious.
The home is very comfortable, and its location is safe and close to restaurants, museums, and shops. I think Cedar Cedar Rapids has a lot going for it.
We enjoyed have a little apartment to stay versus a hotel room. The shops around the property were super cute. It was within walking distance to some of the bars. Overall very cute and comfortable stay.
Great Launching Spot for Czech Village and New BoHo Districts
This upper apartment was comfortable and convenient for our brief visit to Cedar Rapids to explore the Czech Village, and our visit to the museum, which is impressive indeed. We would have loved to visit the African American of Iowa Museum as well, which is practically next door to this historic home, however it was closed during our stay. The house and apartment felt safe and secure and is literally a hop-skip-and-jump to the neighborhood attractions, easy walking distance. It was a little confusing gaining access when we first arrived, but without too terribly long of a delay, the host returned our SOS calls and provided us with a correct lock-box entry code we were lacking. A bit frustrating as our first impression, but thankfully it didn't sour our overall experience. We brought just simple foods for breakfast and snacking so the accommodations worked out well for our needs. Otherwise, the kitchen is fairly sparsely appointed and has limited counter space for any significant meal preparation but for simple meals, it's entirely adequate. We're vegetarians, so most of the Czech restaurants weren't a great option for us, but we really enjoyed meals at two local restaurants and would highly recommend both. The first night, we got a little lost driving but happened upon a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, Lucita's. It's directly across from a large corn processing plant, so not a terribly picturesque neighborhood, but the restaurant itself did not disappoint. Lucita is the grandmother of the owner, we were told, and the food was estupenda!! Many Mexican restaurants seem to put refried beans on the plates, all plates, with very little thought to such a mainstay of the meals. Not the case here. Lucita's makes their refried beans from scratch, without lard, and they're the real deal. The server was terrific and excited to share her local knowledge with us. The second night, we treated ourselves to dinner at a more sophisticated establishment and went to an Italian restaurant called Bari. Squisito!! There are so many adorable and fun treasure shops, vintage stuff galore, in the Czech Village. A fantastic bakery for Kolaches. I forget the name, but ask anyone in the Village, and you'll be pointed in the right direction. Should we return for further exploration of the area, and I hope we're afforded that opportunity, I'd happily rent from these hosts again. Thank you for allowing us to stay with you!
