Steffano was a wonderful host - booked a table for supper locally for us . Everything was very relaxed & nothing was too much trouble. The lady who served breakfast was also delightful ! A great place to stay .
Absolutely a lovely spot with the best host, Stefano. Beautiful & very spacious rooms. He provided excellent recommendations for restaurants in and around Cento, even a Michelin star experience which was perfection. We look forward to visiting Monteborre again!!
Finding the property and parking was extremely easy. The property was very quiet and had several great areas to relax with a book. The room was fantastic, roomy and very modern. The breakfast was the best I had at any property during my three weeks in Italy. The host and staff were so friendly and helpful. I truly wish all properties were this amazing.
We stayed here for my partners 30th birthday and the entire hotel was incredible.
The attention to detail was lovely, the rooms great I had the best 2 nights sleep I’ve had in a very long time, all the staff where so friendly and welcoming it really is a perfect stay.
Breakfast was fantastic and being a vegetarian they still catered for myself and had so many options.
The hotel is set in a beautiful area which is so relaxing.
Highly recommend and we will definitely visit again.
Thanks for the wonderful stay!
The host greeted us and showed us to our lovely spacious room. It’s in a very quiet area (apart from a cockerel 🙃). Breakfast was great - a continental style plate, fresh cornetti amongst some of the options. We would recommend and will return if coming through this area again. Thank you 🙏
This was our first place we stayed at in Italy and it was the best of all our stays. The property was absolutely beautiful. Located away from the busy, populated areas. The room was very spacious and clean. Stefano was so inviting and helpful in answering questions about the area. He also made a suggestion for dinner nearby which was a wonderful meal. I highly recommend this property.
We had a lovely few days at Monteborre. Everyone at this family run agriturismo was so welcoming and friendly. Alessandro gave us a great restaurant recommendation in Cento, and even made the reservation for us. Tatiana made us wonderful cappuccinos and breakfast every morning and suggested (and helped us book) a wonderful Acetaia! It felt so peaceful after being in busy and touristy Venice. They are clearly proud of their beautiful property and it shows! They made us feel so welcome and at home.
This is not a hotel in the traditional sense – there is no 24-hour reception or room service, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it: warm, welcoming, and genuinely personal, something you rarely find in chain hotels.
Breakfast is in true Italian style (not overly abundant), yet with excellent coffee and products from the property’s own farm. The 19th-century mansion was renovated in 2017–18 and features an elevator and a lovely swimming pool that is open 24/7 (unlike many similar properties where the pool is closed at night).
Rooms are spacious, with high ceilings on the second floor. Bathrooms are combined and also generously sized. The air conditioning may take a little while to cool the entire room, but it does the job.
I can definitely recommend this place if you want to escape the noise of the big city and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of a countryside villa.
This is a beautiful place in the countryside (though close to the nearby mediaeval town) with a lovely pool. The owners are a good family and are amazingly helpful. My husband is in a wheelchair. There are no local taxis.
A quiet location, off the beaten path. If you have a car, and are looking for a place to break up a long drive, or are looking for a home base to explore the region, we highly recommend you make this your first choice.
Although the bones of the manor house date back over two hundred years, you wouldn't know it, as everything is brand new and of the highest quality.
The freshly baked goods in the morning were a nice surprise.
The location is nicely tucked away from the beaten track which is perfect for us as we were melting in Bologna. This is a (very lovely) family run business. Everything is beautifully laid out, the interior decoration is exceptional and well thought out from the lovely toiletries and materials, to the incredible space - a welcome break from the city. Breakfast was delicious with beautiful homemade cakes, locally sourced produce and even their own sparkling wine (which was delicious).
I wish we could have stayed much longer. We will definitely be returning back.
