“Everything from the suite, to the whole property, the breakfast, and especially the staff were excellent! Valerie, Graham, Rosi and Jeff treated everyone like family and went out their way to make us comfortable and feel welcome. Michael cooked up a delicious breakfast on Saturday, and Graham cooked up an equally delicious breakfast on Sunday. Can't say enough about the Excel Suite, it's basically a small apartment with a stove, an ice maker a small fridge, coffee maker and all you would need.……

“We absolutely LOVED this experience! The staff was very helpful and over the top with caring for our every need, from morning muffins to sweet chocolate treats! Absolutely wonderful service and even helped get 11 of us with luggage, get out the door to get on the ship for our cruise. We got to tour the train museum as part of our stay and the lore behind the characters in the train station. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience. ”

“Highly recommend this very cool option when staying in Galveston. Unlike anything else, it's an exciting change of pace to for an overnight stay. The railcar is super clean and looks recently refurbished. The staff was over-the-top in efforts to assure we had everything we needed. We stayed during Railfest but any time is a good time for this property. We will definitely be back.”

“Jeff and Polly were the best! We were greeted with fresh baked cookies. And then the second thing I noticed was the personalized welcome sign. It’s the small details that made this stay unique. The food was great as well. You can see that someone put some love into preparing those dishes. If you’re looking for a little getaway for two, I can tell you and my girlfriend and I recommend this place!”

“Nice and roomy. Seems to have been updated. Parking on street only. Neighborhood not anywhere near new but it was chosen because of the proximity to battleship Texas. It’s also close to Katie’s seafood restaurant. ”

“We went for a short family getaway to enjoy the Strand and beach for a weekend. We had a great stay! Marsae was so helpful and easily available for a slight issue we had getting the door unlocked. The kitchen was well stocked and the sleeping arrangements were perfect for our group of 12. Only complaint is we couldn't stay longer! Even after check-out Marsae was so helpful with a couple things that got left behind.We will definitely be booking again!”

“We had a lovely weekend over the 4th of July! Our room was comfortable and cool despite the heat outside, and we enjoyed the pool and being close to everything near by. Kelly was filling in for Lana, and she was the perfect hostess! ”
