Unique hotel. Cool building. Very small room, but it was functional and clean. Can walk to restaurants and bars. The restaurant and bar in lobby closed at 9pm on Friday and didn't open for breakfast until 10am and didn't even open at all on Saturday evening. Everything we could walk to for breakfast was closed on Sunday am. We had a room near the fire escape and street noise was very loud during the night. Front desk staff was night.

The Esquire is a true hidden gem in Gastonia. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed - albeit small. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooftop is an amazing space offering incredible views from all angles with spectacular sunsets. It’s a great semi-private place to unwind and enjoy drinks with friends. Barristers, the on-site bar and restaurant, is no to be missed. In my humble opinion, the creative farm to table cuisine they serve is the very best in the area.

Room was crazy small and HVAC crazy noisy. I was also instantly accosted by a middle aged homeless man on a bike upon arrival, so that was nice too.
