Les Hirondelles - CHATEAU

  • Dominique and Pascal open the doors of a charming authentic typical farmhouse built in 1899 and fully renovated - adorned with a traditional "Mâconnaise gallery" - nestled at the end of a cul-de-sac in the heart of the meadows, on the edge of a small pasture welcoming sheep, in a "panoramic viewpoint" on the hillside above a picturesque little village "with a perfectly preserved wine-growing past" nestled on the south-facing hillside, in the heart of the rolling Cluny countryside (protected in "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF for its rich flora & fauna). Dominated by a splendid 13th-century keep-belfry perched on a rocky promontory offering a unique 360° panorama of the surrounding countryside (an exceptional vestige of a medieval fortress, the historic stronghold of Louis the Stammerer, son of King Charles the Bald), the village enjoys a truly picture-postcard rural setting, nestled in a bucolic cirque of rolling hedgerows beneath the wooded ridges of the vast Trois Monts state forest (perfect for relaxing walks or mountain biking), a magnificent landscape of undulating hills covered in hedged meadows, vineyard slopes, and beautiful wild forests. The comfortable cottage has a "dollhouse" feel. The living room boasts a beautiful, cathedral-like volume. The bedroom is nestled under the eaves in a cozy, cabin-like style. A warm, rustic charm enhanced by meticulous heritage restoration (preservation of the stone walls and lintels, the imposing fireplace mantel, and the original wooden beams and lintels) as well as the wooded mountain ambiance of the surroundings. Full of charm and character. Cozy and comfortable. Enjoyable sheltered panoramic balcony-terrace. Pleasant enclosed garden, full of flowers, greenery, and trees, featuring (among other things) a ping-pong table and a naturally shaded outdoor relaxation area under a tree, nestled on a property with a henhouse and rooster (the privilege of fresh eggs during your stay!) as well as two peaceful goats grazing nearby. Superb unobstructed views of the countryside and the old tower of the feudal castle in the background. Composition: Detached house adjoining the owners' residence (complete privacy), various outbuildings, and a henhouse. Fiber optic Wi-Fi. Gas central heating. Raised ground floor (4 steps): living room/kitchen/lounge, shower room, separate WC. First floor: mezzanine bedroom (double bed 140x190cm). Sheltered balcony/terrace + enclosed garden (owners may pass through) + carport (1 space) + bicycle storage + animal enclosure (large enclosed area with access to an indoor shelter) + private parking. Supermarket 5.5 km. All amenities 6 km. Stunning landscapes and panoramic views just 6 km from the renowned abbey town of Cluny (one of Burgundy's most beautiful gems, boasting the prestigious "European Heritage" label / all amenities on site including supermarkets). Charming, authentic traditional farmhouse dating back to 1899, carefully renovated into a peaceful holiday retreat - featuring a lovely enclosed garden - perched on a south-facing hillside overlooking a picturesque little village with a perfectly preserved winemaking past, overlooking the verdant Grosne valley. In the heart of the gentle, preserved Clunisois countryside (protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF for its very rich ecosystems), nestled in the hollow of a soothing hilly setting combining bucolic hedged meadows, vineyards & beautiful wild forests, next to the northern Beaujolais massif (a vast marked mountain biking area to discover), the "Green Valleys" of southern Burgundy and the "Little Switzerland of the Mâconnais" (splendid territory of the Upper Clunisois) opposite the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labeled "Grand Site de France" (located 26 km away). An exceptionally privileged location, just a stone's throw from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais region (including the famous "Val Lamartinien," named after the area's illustrious resident) and the Burgundy Wine Route, not far from the Beaujolais vineyards (the first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark), ideally situated on the Romanesque Churches Trail, the "Cycloroute71" (the Saône-et-Loire cycling route), and various "natural" footpaths, including a marked "green trail" (a vast network of similar paths crisscrossing the region, perfect for hiking or mountain biking), 1 km from the GR76 long-distance hiking trail, which connects to the famous "Cluny Way" (ViaCluny) and the legendary "Monks' Way" (once linking the abbeys of Cîteaux and Cluny), and 7 km from the "Southern Burgundy Loop" Green Way (and its remarkable The "Bois Clair Tunnel," accessible 10 km away, is the longest former railway tunnel in France, now a greenway (1.6 km long). Also 8 km away is the renowned GTM mountain bike circuit, certified "FFC Mountain Biking" (Grand Tour of the Southern Burgundy Massif, connected to a vast network of identical marked trails crisscrossing the massif in a star pattern). This is a prime location at the crossroads of the Mâconnais, Beaujolais, Clunisois-Tournugeois (designated a "Land of Art and History"), and Charolais-Brionnais (also designated a "Land of Art and History") regions. Ideally located for easy exploration (RCEA highway access just 7 km away): 16 km from Taizé (and its famous religious community), 26 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV train station 23 km away), 28 km from Saint-Gengoux-le-National, a designated "Town of Character of Burgundy-Franche-Comté", 28 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 32 km from Charolles, 38 km from Tournus, 41 km from "Hameau Dubœuf" (Europe's first wine and vineyard theme park), 42 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais) and 48 km from Vonnas (Gastronomic and gourmet village of Georges Blanc). A cozy and relaxing retreat, close to amenities, for a rejuvenating romantic getaway in the countryside!
