The experience that I had at Ellenborough Park was mixed, some staff members are clearly so much better with their customer service levels than others. On the day of arrival the guy behind the desk wouldn’t engage with me at all, he just kept starring at my missus even when I struck conversation with him he looked at my missus and responded to her which I found very bizarre, I started to feel as though I was a ghost (or just a very rude man). Laura who was on reception Monday morning had superb customer service skills engaged with us both and gave us maps for things we might like to do.
Keeping on the topic of the first man he booked a taxi for us to get to our restaurant in the night time, first of all the guy was late and second of all he charged us £19 both ways for a restaurant that was 5 minutes away in the car. The hotel did deal with this though when we arrived back so I applaud them on that, but people should be careful as they clearly see people from out of town and think they can make a pretty penny!!
The hotel itself is a beautiful building but it could do with some refurbishment, the carpets are outdated and they’re many stains. The breakfast buffet and food for breakfast was lovely no complaints there, but the last thing I will say is the cleanliness of the pool was disgusting I’ve taken photos of cotton pads that were floating in the heated pool surely for a 5 star you would expect the place to be immaculate.. this sadly wasn’t the case.
