Fantastic, clean, homely place to stay

We had a great time at Fox. Great location for seeing everything and wonderful views. Owners very nice. Only thing we missed was a dog friendly garden but would go back. Lovely little house.

Perfect little hideaway

Beautiful cottage on a working farm! Hosts incredibly friendly and accommodating! Used it as a prep space for our wedding and hosts couldn't do more for us. Beautiful views, short walk to charlbury. Accomodation is just what you need, clean and comfortable.

Great property and location

We loved our stay at Fox, the property is well equipped and is very spacious and comfortable. The property owners are welcoming and accommodating. The property is a working farm but this didn't impact our stay at all and it's great to have walks directly from the doorstep. Ideally base for visiting different villages in the Cotswolds.

A beautiful space

We had a wonderful few days staying at Fox Cottage. Mark and Jenny have created a beautiful and comfortable space. The local town of Charlbury has a number of lovely pubs and The Old Shed Cafe is a great breakfast spot which you can walk to.

Unforgettable holiday at the Cotswolds

We enjoyed our stay in Fox at the Cotswolds. The cottage is cozy and very peaceful. You can enjoy lovely walks through the fields right away along the footpaths. The view is magnificent. It's a shame there were guests next door, which caused some noise disturbance. There's a train station 5 minutes away with a direct connection to London. Very easy.

What an amazing stay! We absolutely loved our stay on the farm & just can’t fault anything. Everything looks brand new & in such good condition, the cottage is cosy, comfortable & every little thing has been thought of. We will absolutely be back to stay here.

Peaceful and relaxing stay in homely stylish cotttage

Beautifully appointed, comfortable and lovely views from the picture windows. Being located on farm and by the footpath good for dog walks. Only 10 mins drive from main attractions but very quiet and serene. Only recommendations would be some black out curtains for those early sunrise mornings and perhaps a dishwasher. A more Enclosed garden for the dogs would be a plus too.

Beautiful cottage in a fab location.

Such a beautiful cottage, with amazing views. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, on a lovely little farm in a great location. Dog friendly, toddler friendly, and we met the owners several times who were very kind to our little girl and let her watch the sheep being brought in. We had the best holiday, and will be recommending this place to everyone we know.

Fox at Christmas

We had an absolutely brilliant stay in Jenny and Mark’s beautiful cottage in Charlbury. Warm, comfortable and stunning views together with everything you need to cater brilliantly for four people made this feel like home from home during a fabulous Christmas vacation.

Christmas getaway

Perfect location for visiting Blenheim Palace and Cotswolds Wildlife Park. The cottage was modern, spacious, clean and well furnished. We didn’t want for anything! It even had an EV charger which was ideal for us. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Enjoyed our Stay

The property was very light and airy. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfy. Lovely surrounding countryside, up a long farm track. It was very handy for Oxford using the park and ride. Chipping Norton, the nearest town, had shops, restaurants and takeaways.

Great house to visit the Cotswold

Very quiet house, very bright surrounded by fields. Very comfortable and convenient. Perfect location for visiting the north and south Cotswolds. You can visit Oxford by train (20 minutes). The Charlbury station is 5 minutes from the house. You have a place next to the house to park the car. The hosts are very helpful and responsive. It feels like home.

Short break

Lovely stay at Fox Cottage. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Owners were on hand if needed. Mark was especially good with our little lad who was keen to know more about the farm. Great walks from the cottage to the local villages. Didly squat was fun... main purpose of our visit. A clothes airer would have been useful to dry our washing but the cottage was so warm it didn't take long to dry things.

A delight from start to finish

This is such a special property. We needed a quiet short break in a good location to see some highlights of the Cotswolds and Fox was just the ticket. The property is beautifully furnished, with a well equipped kitchen and lovely bath for a long soak, if that's your fancy. The views are completely stunning, and it was so quiet and relaxing we were truly able to switch off from the world. The village of Charlbury is close by and very charming. On recommendation from the visitors guide in the house, we visited Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury, each about 30 mins drive and beautiful. We'd book this again in a heartbeat, thank you for creating such a blissful place to stay.

A Long Weekend at The Fox

We had a lovely long weekend at the Fox. The property has only recently been converted from what was originally one of the farm outbuildings. The conversion is to a very high standard, very warm and cosy. The interior is very tastefully decorated. The owners were very welcoming and friendly but never intrusive. The property was spotless. The location is ideal for walking and the network of local footpaths is only a few yards away, in fact we didn’t use the car at all during our stay. We plan to visit again at some point in the future.

Absolutely superb accomodation!

We had a wonderful stay at Fox cottage. Top marks for cleanliness and extremely comfortable beds. Jennie and Mark were most welcoming and very friendly. Although we were staying on a farm we did not hear any noise from the farm machinery. We loved sitting out on the garden furniture every evening and watching the sun setting across the open fields. There is a footpath from the farm which takes you to nearby villages of Spelsbury and Charlbury. Fox is in a really good location for visiting Cotswold villages and other attractions. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Fox cottage and hope we will return there soon.

Week’s stay at Fox

As a family of 4 with two young children we can highly recommend The Fox for your stay. The property is on a working farm, my son loved seeing the sheep moved from field to field. The property itself was immaculate and two lovely sized bedrooms. We were provided with a highchair, travel cot, stepping stool and games for the children. It was the perfect base for exploring the Cotswold and The Shed Cafe only 8 minutes in the car was amazing for cakes and takeaway drinks, this was a daily visit! The hosts were super friendly and we even got to see Molly the dog’s new puppies! The welcome basket was a lovely touch, and all of the necessary kitchen amenities were provided. Great hanging space for clothes in the wardrobe with decent hangers. There was outdoor furniture and we even made friends with our lovely neighbours. We cannot wait to return to The Fox and we have recommended to our friends and family.

We enjoyed our stay at Fox,visited many fav places the weather was wonderful and it was a nice peaceful loctaion on the farm the only things I could say to improve things is a microwave in the kitchen would be great also maybe something to improve the privacy in the garden area as there is no privacy at all when you sit out.

This was our first visit to the Cotswolds, to visit family in Charlbury and also to tour Oxfordshire. The Fox accomodation was excellent, probably the best place we have ever rented. The rooms were spacious and very clean and well equiped. However we did miss not having a microwave cooker. Being located on a farm, it was a bit of a long drive up the unmade road however it was so lovely and peaceful. The views were spectacular from the lounge area. We saw the wildlife, and beautiful sunsets across the fields.The owners were perfect hosts living nearby. We were able to go for walks along the public footpaths, exploring Spelsbury and the surrounding area. The Fox was ideally located for venturing further afield. Not very far from Charlbury railway station to take us into Oxford. We also visited Bourton-on-the-water, and Stow-on-the-wold, both charming. We would be happy to return at some time in the future.
