"Very disappointing stay and certainly not the standard advertised.
We booked a half-board stay after seeing the hotel’s own advertising which stated guests could enjoy a “3-course set menu dinner”. Instead, we were presented with a buffet that was of extremely poor quality. The carvery meats were largely inedible, vegetables were either undercooked or poor quality, and some items appeared frozen or improperly prepared. The overall dining experience was nowhere near what had been advertised.
The restaurant itself also raised hygiene concerns. We witnessed food waste being scraped into open bins directly beside diners while people were still eating, there were flies present, and several restaurant chairs were visibly stained and dirty.
The leisure facilities were equally disappointing. The changing rooms had a strong unpleasant odour, excessive condensation, damaged lockers and a general lack of upkeep. In the steam room, a drain grate had collapsed creating a trip hazard in an area with limited visibility. The pool area felt tired and poorly maintained, with rusting furniture and a hot tub that appeared heavily chlorinated, leaving us with skin irritation and headaches afterwards.
Unfortunately, the room was no better. There was a noticeable urine smell, heavily stained bedding and mattress protectors, stains on the room furniture, a damaged window locking mechanism and generally poor standards of cleanliness and maintenance throughout."
