“We were absolutely delighted with the cleanliness and modern decor of the apartment, and it’s location in central Lerwick was perfect. We could park for free on the street outside the apartment and the shops and restaurants were a five-minute walk. The apartment had all the facilities we needed, including a washer-dryer so we could wash clothes during the week. The only challenge we had was due to our levels of fitness - there are a few flights of stairs (and 35 steps) up to the St. Ninian’s……

“There is only one word for this - WOW!!!!! I have never in all my years as a self-catering traveller seen so much care being taken to ensure that all one's needs are met. We stayed in "Spiggie" and everything was perfect. The location was in the centre of everything, while being quiet as well. The planning of the amenities was first class (both kitchen electrical sockets had USB sockets) and in the bedroom was a cooling down mat for ladies to rest their straighteners/curling tongs. “We have stayed at the Kveldsro for a week plus on two occasions, and really enjoyed ourselves each time. The hotel is not a new building, but as a result is full of character. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms fairly recently updated. The dining room and many of the bedrooms have a wonderful view over the Lerwick harbour. One of the best aspects is that the hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from Commercial Street, and within easy walking distance of most of the many……

“The week we spent at Voortrekkers Lodge, Levenwick, was an absolutely marvellous experience. The spectacular view from the lodge, the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts and the cosy, clean accomodation all contributed to a wonderful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We adored the goats and the almost-goat-sheep at our front door! Thank you, Niki and Piet, we are surely planning to come back some day. Maybe I will even try the smoked, freshly caught fish then...”
