Fun by the Wineries
Our group loved our stay at the Farmhouse! The property and scenery are so picturesque, and we loved spending time together around the large table in the kitchen. Brian (host) had great recommendations for the area, especially a bus to take us around to the local wineries for an afternoon. We had a blast utilizing all the paddle boards and kayaks provided at the pond, and after fun-filled days the beds were comfortable and clean! We would definitely stay again.

Bachelorette party must!
Great place for a bachelorette party! Brian was so helpful & communicative throughout the entire process. The property is absolutely stunning with picture perfect sunrises & sunsets. Don't miss the chance to have coffee with the ponies and cows or paddle board at sunset with your girls. As a first time MOH, I couldn't have asked for a better experience and Brian's connections made the planning process a million times easier. Would definitely stay again!

Plenty of room to spread out. Came down for a wine trail. Brian was easy to get ahold of. Only concern is the bathroom with the shower- the glass door/wall didn’t seem as secure as it should be and water still got out onto the floor. Would love to come with kids in the summer to utilize the pond!

Great place and great weekend! Beautiful spot and lots of room for friends and family to join you. The kitchen is awesome and the massage chair was great. The kids loved the kayaks and we all loved the peace n quiet. 5⭐️!

A true hidden gem
What an amazing property!!!! As soon as I booked the Wine Country House, Brian (host) contacted me to touch base and provide contact info. From the time we booked to the time we checked out, Brian was always available and quick to respond to any questions. He is the host with the most! :) This place was absolute perfection- my friends and I all agreed we would be staying there again. The house is beautiful and spacious, but for us, the best aspects were outside. There are so many seating areas - a patio just outside the kitchen door, a fire pit area, AND next to the private lake (which has available kayaks and stand up paddleboards), plenty of lounge chairs and a covered seating area. Near the house is a little barn with 3 very friendly mini horses we became best friends with. The Wine Country Farmhouse is so conveniently located to so many excellent hiking/trails- It's a quick drive to Giant City Park and Pomona Natural Bridge. The house feels so secluded and like you have so much privacy, but if, like my party, you forget charcoal or need cookies, there is store very close by. (As an outdoors person, I also really loved that we were there right when the irises started to bloom.) I can't wait until we're able to book the house again. If you're in the Southern Illinois area, you *have* to check out this place.

Landscaping needs a lot of work The outside of the house need’s power washed The beach was great The kitchen was excellent The description of house says 3 full baths but it’s actually 2.5 baths. Upstairs mattresses need replaced and there is no upstairs bathroom

What a Delight
A lovely, open space that feels quite isolated but is close to roads and shops for any needs. The little lake charms with its turtles and kayaks. The home provides great views of the lake and the sunsets, with cozy bedrooms for all. The kitchen is well-stocked and spacious. Our little reading retreat felt cozy and cared for over the entire weekend. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

Family get-away
We had a wonderful time at the Wine Country Farmhouse. We stayed with our two sons, spouses, and 2 grandchildren. Everything that you could need is provided. Great views of the lake. The farmhouse is spacious. There is room to gather inside and outside. No need to bring chairs for outside - seating at the beach, firepit and decks The lake was clear and clean! Enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat, swimming, and fishing. Grandchildren loved going over to pet the horses. They are very friendly. Looking forward to another stay at the Farmhouse!

Beautiful!
There is nothing negative to say about the home and property! It was so peaceful and beautiful. I took my children, their spouses and my grandchildren. Everyone loved the horses, and especially the lake. The water was clean, no hesitation about getting in and swimming. Between the paddle boat, kayaks, paddle boards, and lily pad, everyone had a blast! The firepit area was perfect after the sun went down. The house was very nice and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Love this place!
This is our second time staying at this farmhouse and all of our families love it there. There’s mini horses that our kids would feed daily, a fire pit with plenty of chairs, and a lily pad, kayaks and paddle boards to play on. Also, the owner is super accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend this rental!

Quick getaway
We had a great time - the house was fantastic and the property was gorgeous. My friend and I had three of our kids there, all 7 and under. They absolutely loved the kayaks, Lilly pad, and swimming in the lake (no algae to be seen at all). The house had plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We enjoyed hanging down by the lake and enjoyed not seeing anyone or houses from the property. Our favorite part may have been visiting with the horses, the kids loved feeding them carrots and apples - so much fun. Brian was super responsive to any questions. Would highly recommend!

Great peaceful getaway w/ nearby amenities!
We loved our stay at this country house w/ all the modern amenities you need to feel comfortable! The kids loved getting on the water in the boats and my mom loved admiring the nearby houses while drinking her coffee. Perfect getaway for us to all get together with nearby hiking at Giant City Nature trail and wine tasting! Brian was easy to connect to if we had questions. We appreciated his hopsitality! Definitely be cautious of ticks - they were everywhere the minute you stepped foot on the grass. We didn't feel comfortable getting in the water due to farm runoff/algae blooming but didn't stop us from paddling w/ the many options that we had right on the dock!

Priya thanks for staying. I just want to follow up on a few things. 1. There are NO houses visible from the beach or from the farmhouse during the summer. You are surrounded by 125 acres. 2. It is possible there is some algae in the lake but that is very normal. As of July 4th there is zero algae in the lake. Thanks Brian

Everything was great. Very spacious and furnished well. Luckily we had beautiful weather and enjoyed all the amenities. Saturday we took a bus to local wineries. Sunday when the bachelorette party was over the grand kids and immediate family came to hang out for a day! Loved it!

30th Birthday Weekend
We had a group of 11 stay April 28-30th. We had a wonderful stay! The house accommodated all of us very well! The dining table was perfect for us all to sit at. The view and the deck areas were great! Very quiet and secluded! The pond and ponies were our favorite! Plenty of things to keep us busy! Brian was great! He called me right after booking asking if I needed any recommendations! He did refer Wrightway Transportation and Chadwick was wonderful! Brian is also very punctual with responding to you if you need anything! He truly takes pride in making sure everyone has a wonderful stay! We are all hoping to come back again next year!

Scenic Farmhouse in Illinois Wine Country
Our girl's family trip to the area included 3 generations, aging from 26-88. We ALL loved the farmhouse and it's amenities! The area is serene and scenic, yet close to many of the southern Illinois wineries. We enjoyed the fire pit, the horses, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, grilling, and porch sitting at the house. Brian was a great host! He was available to answer any questions we had before and during our stay, and he helped plan our day trip to the wineries. We also had an awesome bus driver from Wrightway Transportation who made sure we got to and from all of the wineries safely, thanks Wes! We will definitely be back!!

Daughters 40th birthday celebration with whole family.
This is a wonderful place to stay. We got a lot of use out of the pond. The kids caught lots of fish, bass and bluegills, they also kayaked and paddle boarded. The fire pit area is large and nice. We all loved the miniature horses and the grandkids liked being able to feed them. We saw deer, wild turkeys, hawks and a family of barred owls. The grandkids loved catching toads down by the pond. There was a lot to do in the area. We went to the wineries one day, the next we hiked Fern Clyffe and Giant city. We wanted to go to snake road but the weather wasn’t right for it. The house is nice and comfortable. The only thing I would say is in the information about the place it said it had 3 full bathrooms. It’s really is 2 and 1/2 baths. Also, says it sleep up to 18. There are 5 beds that sleep 2 each so 10 people. From what I gathered anyone else would sleep on a couch or an air mattresses. There were plenty of air mattresses. Brian was accommodating and friendly. We would definitely rent his place again. We made a lot of wonderful memories and had a lot of fun!

Family Getaway on a Great Property
We rented this house with the private lake to celebrate our parents 50th anniversary. The 5 bedroom house comfortably fit 6 adults and 4 children. The house has been updated to make it feel new while maintaining the farmhouse vibe. The kitchen is spacious for both cooking and seating at meals. The lake activities included something for all interests between the paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, fishing and the floating pad. We spent several house each day on the lake and rarely left the property. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to getaway with a multi- family group and enjoy the outdoors.

Peaceful and charming, perfect for our friends and family reunion
We cannot wait to book again next year. We met in the middle for a group of old college roommates and our families and it was perfect. The house was very charming, clean and the kitchen and large table were very accommodating to our bigger group. There were plenty of areas for the kids to play inside but our favorite was the outdoor space. We had kids ages 4-7. The paved driveway was perfect for scooter and sidewalk chalk. The mini horses were the sweetest and entertainment for the kiddos. But the lake was the best part. We felt like we were on our own little world having the lake to ourselves. The sandy beach and dock made getting in and out easy. The equipment allowed so many different things to do; the adults and kiddos loved the kayaks and stand up paddleboards and the lilly pad was a huge hit with the kiddos. There were a couple eating places and a nice shaded area by the water for a break from the sun. We brought life jackets but it was reassuring that they had some in various sizes as well as other floats. The options on this water were endless and we loved every minute of making memories here. The Moms did venture and try some of the local wines and enjoyed our time. I have recommended this place to everyone willing to drive (it was 4hrs for us).

The Perfect private vacation home
If you are thinking about renting this property do it!!!! Brian was so wonderful in helping with questions and booking this Vrbo for a couples shower Party. The home was more spacious than what pictures can show and very clean. There are 2 decks and a nice front porch with plenty of seating. There is a fire pit and of course the lake with lots of kayaks to use! There was life jackets and a paddleboat. Also there is a newly added gazebo that was just right by the water. The lake was clean and our group had a really fun time out on the water! The mini horses are also very nice and cute as well. There are also a few games to play at the house as well. The drive to wineries are very convenient as well. I wish we could have spent a few more days here ! I definitely recommend booking with Brian you won't regret it!

WE WILL BE BACK!!
None of us wanted to leave the Farmhouse. We ranged in ages from 1 1/12 years old to 91 (4 generations)! The Farmhouse was extremely nice, there was plenty of room for six adults and two young kids. There's plenty inside to keep kids busy. I can't say enough for the lake! Brian has put in a new dock and pergola for shade. There are kayaks, stand up paddle boats and a pedal boat. Even a floating pad. Plenty of life jackets too! How do you top a day like that....a fire in the firepit by the house! There were chairs outside everywhere! Thank you for sharing your place Brian.

Nice house with all the basics, loved the private pond
The house itself is spacious, the kitchen is well stocked, and the beds and bathrooms were nice. We especially enjoyed the kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and other toys to play on the lovely pond. So great to have it all to ourselves to relax when on the property. Solid location close to lots of hiking and wineries.

Wine trail farm house
This house was amazing and we had the best time! We had a girls weekend getaway and it was the perfect house for the trip! The view and scenery were beautiful, and the beach and dock at the pond were so much fun! The house was clean and spacious, and super cozy!! The location is pretty much right in the middle of the wine trail, so it’s super easy to just jump right on there!! Brian was kind and super easy to work with! He was very helpful and available any time I had a question!! Overall, best weekend ever!!! I will ABSOLUTELY be going back! Also…the mini horses are amazing!!

Amazing experience
We’ve traveled to the wine trail many times. This was our first time staying at Brian’s property. We were amazed at this place. From the moment you drive up it’s instant beauty. The countryside and the pond offered impeccable views. We enjoyed fishing in the pond and even caught a few fish. The charcoal grill and outdoor seating provided a nice evening for us. We had many laughs as three grown men used the peddle boat. The house was beautiful! It was clean and the beds were comfy. Brian was great to work with. From the moment we booked his communication was great. He answered any questions right away and provided helpful insight for our shuttle bus. We loved our time and can’t wait to come back!

Our girls getaway weekend was a success. Brian was great to communicate with and very responsive. This place is wonderful for a large group. Two bedrooms on the lower level and 3 on the upper level. All the beds and bedding were very nice. There are 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bath, all on the main level. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of dishes for large groups as well and a large dining table. Having two living areas was nice and would be great for families with kids. The deck and views are fantastic and in warm weather, the lake would be great and was well equipped with kayaks, paddle boats and a dock. The farmhouse is very private yet easy to get to and we will definitely be back.

Our host Brian, went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. When they had an ice storm the night before we were heading out he called to let me know the conditions of the roads and the driveway. He checked in with us 2 times while we were here and even recommended restaurants for my Celiac kid. The house was clean, updated and had a fully supplied kitchen and bathrooms. We hope to use this property again in the fall when the kids can use the kayaks and paddle boards in the huge pond. Thank you again, Brian!!

Beautiful property
We spent Christmas at the farmhouse. I brought most things we would need to cook Christmas dinner but didn’t need to at all. Everything you need to cook and clean is there. Plenty of room inside and out. It was very windy during my stay so I didn’t get to spend much time outside as I would have liked. Brian was very helpful and a pleasure to talk with. I would love to come back in the summer to enjoy outdoors.

Southern Illinois Wineries Trip
This property is great. Fit the occasion perfectly. Group of us went down to tour wine country for a long weekend. After a day visiting the wineries the Wine Country Farmhouse was a great place to finish off the day. Peaceful, quiet and very relaxing. Kitchen had a large table which was great for sitting around and playing games of an evening. Kitchen was well stocked with the essentials for any type of cooking, beds were comfortable as well.
