“Property was in good condition, seemed to have been recently renovated because it seemed new’ish’. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Only dislike was access to the stairways since we often us the stairs instead of the elevator. We found that the stairways were not easily found as a person would expect (due to the staggered layout I’m guessing) but we did not take the time to follow the exit signs. Overall, this is an excellent hotel and would recommend it.”

“ Met all expectations. The breakfast was very good. The only point was the difficulty of getting on the free WiFi. We had to ask the front desk to do it for us. I have signed into WiFi around the world and this presented a problem unless I wanted to sign up for membership”

“Convenient to travel to Halifax. Bathroom door needed work as the lock stuck with the guest inside the room. Contacted the front desk to advise - nothing was done about it.”

“Just disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. Staff were great the 2 women that I seen. One when I was checking in and one when I checking out. You just drop key in bucket when you leave because you pay for room on arrival so I did not say anything. ”

“Playground & Mini Putt were shabby. Campground was just fair. Dome was good, but had a hassle with getting electric on, fire alarm kept going off, shower had black mold in it, 2 towels provided for 2 ppl over 2 days. No recycling bins in dome. Had to keep swapping propane tank between heater & dome heater. Ideally, should be one tank for each. Fridge was not plugged in and took a day to get cold. Dome was overall wonderful, as was the view, but there is no sound proof and you can hear everything……

“Loved it! Homely, eccentric, a stunning conversion. We had a great time in this gorgeous space and it was the perfect family base from which to explore and a ‘home’ to return to. My son and I loved hearing an approaching train and sprinting down to the crossing to see them pass. 😆 Jim is delightfully passionate about his place and rightly so, look forward to coming back!”

“We had a really nice time at the Bakers Chest B&B. The breakfast was delicious both days. Our room was large and the bed really comfortable. The host and hostess were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend the Bakers Chest”

“It was very quiet, was able to relax easily. Did not like - how high the beds where from the ground. Would have liked if there was an option for a stool to help get into the bed. I am short and I was hurt recently (after I had booked), so was having trouble climbing into the bed.”
