Perfect location

Great place located super close to fort Jackson for those coming to family day for graduation with many options for eating out near by. Host is very friendly and is willing to work with you. Super spacious for big groups with a calm neighborhood environment.

Great Place

Great house, plenty of comfortable beds and futons, with 3 bathrooms. The biggest plus for our family was how close it’s located to Fort Jackson.

Close to Fort Jackson

We were here for Basic Training graduation at Fort Jackson. We wanted something close to the facilities and this was the perfect location. The neighborhood is older yet quiet and we felt safe. It was perfect for what we were looking for.

Enjoyed our two night stay at this property. Tons of character and potential! Would have given a much higher review if the property was kept up and maintained. Location was great but disappointed with the cleanliness.

The description, communication, and location were excellent. The house is quite charming. We rented this home as the beginning to a family vacation as our daughter was graduating from USC. We stayed for 3 nights. There is ample room for a family, plenty of beds and bathrooms. We were pleased to find that the bedding appeared to be new. There is plenty of tableware, in case you order in. There is not much to cook with, and there were only 3 spoons. The home is in disrepair- it's certainly livable, but it is not comfortable. The shower floor is split in one of the bathrooms. If you intend to use the the couches for extra beds, we would recommend that you plan otherwise. The couches are dirty and the mattresses/mechanics of the pull out old. The floors were extremely dirty and we opted to wear shoes at all times. Much of the furniture is worse for wear. The point is, if you just need a place to stay this house is fine. But if you are looking for it to be a vacation stay, it isn't that. We traveled across the country to stay here and did not find it to meet the value for the cost and host fees.

Perfect for our needs!

We came to town for a family event and needed an affordable, pet-friendly rental with sleeping capacity for 7. That's exactly what we got. There's not much to do in the surrounding neighborhood but we weren't expecting that. The kitchen was stocked well and the house was spacious. This is a great value if you just need a place to crash in a quiet location.

Very convenient to Fort Jackson

While the house doesn’t exactly look as good in person as in the photos, it is clean enough and we had no problems. It’s comfortable and cute with enough space for a family. The location is extremely convenient for those attending Fort Jackson graduations and everything is easy to find. The neighborhood felt safe enough that we took walks during the day. Lots of hills on which to get good exercise!

House

The house was nice it was an old house but nice and different. The sinks didn’t drain good the toilets was hard to flush the door down stairs bathroom wouldn’t lock and the tubs didn’t drain so while taking showers we where standing in the water because it wouldn’t drain. Called the day we got there nobody came to fix anything until the day before check out so we ended up checking out a day early

Details matter

I do not have any complaints about our stay just some suggestions. The very first step going upstairs to the house is broken three out of the 12 people all tripped. It should be repaired rather quickly before someone actually does get hurt. The cleaning services are not doing a very good job when you unfold the futons there is food crumbs what have you in the fold of the futon. When wiping down the house before we left I noticed the floors were unbelievably dirty on the rag I was using. But like I said no complaints I would stay there again and again the beds were unbelievably comfortable, The linens were freshly clean and access to the house was remarkably easy. Thank you for the hospitality.

Not as advertised

There is a need for maintenance on this property. The bathroom downstairs had a toilet that you had to physically fill tank with water in order to flush. The main upstairs bathroom shower had broken knobs and the door stuck and would take 2 people to open if closed all the way. There were dead bug carcasses in every room. Sheets had stains on them. We couldn't find a dust pan until the last day, it was shoved under one of the downstairs beds. The couch in the upstairs living room smelled so bad we avoided sitting on it, as well as the 2 futons in the main room downstairs. It is very dangerous walking from driveway into house as there is no lighting, until you turn on inside, so you trip over rocks until you get to stairs. Only redeeming factor was it was close to Fort Jackson. Could be a great place if maintenance done and it was cleaned.

Motel room vibe

First off, nothing about the listing description of the property is inaccurate, but I do believe the reviews are way too generous for the condition of this home. We rely heavily on reviews to decide on our vacation properties. If I'd have known what I know now I would never have picked this house. Hoping the next traveller can make a better-informed decision. I'll start with the cons: **the MB bed frame squeaks quite a lot. I couldn't roll over without waking my husband. The mattress also slants to the middle. **the bedding and towels are all very low quality. The sheets are thin and worn. **the pillows on all beds are very cheap, thin, VERY uncomfortable **the main sofa in the living room is dirty and slants to the middle **the floors are very dirty **the kitchen garbage disposal doesn't work, which we didn't find out until we'd deposited food in it **all of the curtains in all rooms are too small for the windows so don't provide adequate privacy **most of the windows upstairs and downstairs were unlocked when we arrived (safety hazard) **the furnishings and decor are motel-quality Pros: **the immediate neighborhood feels safe and friendly (had neighbor approach us and offer assistance with anything we may need) **proximity to Ft. Jackson is great **responsiveness from mgmt was very good **plenty of room for large groups to spread out We wouldn't rent again but could work for a family that has a big group and doesn't mind the details above.

Totally ok - not great.

I was with 8 other people for family weekend at UofSC. Like many, who use Vrbo, I do a lot of research before booking, and rely on the reviews of many to make a decision. The description of thes home is not incorrect, but the photos make it look much better than it is and the 10/10 reviews are very generous. We should all be able to expect a clean property with clean linens and the basics of a working home. This house had none of the extras and was missing some of the basics. We weren't planning on cooking a gourmet meal but eggs and bacon seem pretty basic. For a house that sleeps 13 people, there was only enough of some dishes to accommodate 5 or 6 people So we were hand washing dishes during meal time. The Pots and pans were abysmal with almost all with chipped and peeling Teflon on the bottom. It is so inexpensive to buy a set of pots and pans, that I can't conceive of a reason why an owner or management company would allow this. The toilets "kind of flush" with some having to be manually refilled and at least one shower with the weakest stream of water, almost making showering impossible. The master shower had no shower liner and only half of the shower hanger keeping the curtain in place. These things are such easy fixes that I don't know why they let them go by the wayside. The yard was a total mess. Like I said, the general condition of the house is ok but it really needs a total overhaul
