Peace & Quite

Definitely rural and down lots of narrow rough lanes but that is the challenge in parts of Devon. Really good detailed direction from host but if you prefer SatNav just type “Slade Dairy Cottages”. Although a rural setting it is very close to everything including a Tesco supermarket. This was just the peaceful, quiet break we needed

Beautiful country escape

The hosts had thought of everything to make us comfortable. The grandchildren enjoyed viewing cows next door and eating the chickens eggs. East Devon had loads to offer and we had a great time.

Beautiful location. Lovely cottage.

Deep in the Devon countryside yet within easy reach of local villages and town (and only a short drive to the Donkey Sanctuary) this is a well appointed property with all you need for a great holiday. The owners are friendly and welcoming - even the resident pheasant is friendly! All in all a wonderful late Spring holiday. We will certainly want to return.

Beautiful cottage and setting

We had a three night stay in Daisy Cottage and found everything to be perfect for our needs. It's very warm and cosy inside and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Perfect for local walks or exploring the Jurassic coast. Tony was very friendly and communication prior and during our stay was excellent. Highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely property, away from noise and busy city life. If you looking for peace and quiet it is absolutely perfect, but villages and shops just few minutes drive away, beautiful place!

Lovely, quaint cottage

Quaint little cottage in the beautiful Devonshire countryside. Perfect base for exploring the the surrounding areas, our children loved the outdoor play area and the very friendly chickens! The cottage was clean and comfortable with a nice little welcome pack of treats. Milk in the fridge was a nice touch for a much needed cuppa upon arrival!

Lovely cosy cottage

Lovely cosy cottage. Enjoyed our long weekend very much. Cottage has everything you need and there was a lovely welcome pack of biscuits and fudge on arrival plus milk, tea bags and coffee. Quiet area and as expected, narrow lanes in and out so expect lots of reversing to let vehicles passed. Played 2 golf courses during our visit - Honiton & Axe Cliff, also visited The Donkey Sanctuary which is an amazing place and well worth a visit. If you’re not in a hurry to get anywhere, Daisy Cottage is an ideal place to stay.

The property was lovely clean and in good decorative order, everything worked. The location is very quiet, the terrace outside was a sun trap. Lovely views of the Devon Countryside from the main bedroom window and outside. Play area for kids and barbecues are provided.

Absolutely Wonderful.

Daisy Cottage was an absolute winner. In a perfect location with nothing but fields around. Inside was beautiful, with a log fire, for cooler evenings and underfloor heating in the bathroom which was an extra special touch. I would recommend Daisy cottage to anyone. You do need to be a driver. Or, at least, have one driver in your party.

Great for families with young children

The location of this property is definitely it's best feature if you like to be in the countryside. The roads are very narrow so maybe avoid if you're not the most confident driver. But it's easy enough to get to Exmouth and Sidmouth for trips to the coast. The kids play area was also a big selling point for us as it meant our young children could play while we relaxed and this wasn't a disappointment when we got there. The kids had so much fun. Our friends also rented the cottage nextdoor so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The inside of the cottage was spacious except the kitchen dining area. Unfortunately the dining table only has room for 2, thankfully the weather was good enough (just) to be able to eat outside but it would be a bit of a struggle in the colder months to eat as a family. Also be aware that the freezer is tiny so don't bring/buy loads of ice, ice blocks or frozen food. The cottage could benefit from some updates but the photos and description are accurate. Overall we had a lovely family holiday and would be happy to book this cottage again.

Lovely stay

We had a great time at Daisy Cottage. There has clearly been a lot of thought put in to the facilities, e.g. there was washing up liquid, dishwasher and washing tablets, tea, coffee and milk left for our use. The play area was a hit with the three year old in our group. The location is great with a Tesco's a 10 minute drive away in Honiton and the coast not that far away either. Thank you for ensuring we had such a lovely stay.

Daisy cottage

There was no connection for our mobile phone, only by wifi. We could not phone anyone. The dinertable was very small. It is an two onder one roof cottage and noisy. The garden and washingmachine are for both cottages. Not a lot of privacy. The beds are great and the bathroom also. The kitchen is fine and well equipted. The space in the livingroom is small. The road to the cottage is a small path for only one car. The area is great and the contryside beautifull.

Cosy Daisy Cottage

Das kleine cottage war genau richtig für meinen Mann und mich. Es liegt so wundervoll in den grünen Hügeln von East Devon. Das Häuschen ist sehr sauber und gut mit allem ausgestattet. Eine ruhigere Lage ist kaum möglich. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten an der Jurassic coast sind innerhalb von 30 - 40 Minuten zu erreichen. Das Fahren auf den 'single track' roads darf man nicht scheuen. Es geht oft nur durch Hecken.
