The Richard Tottie Memorial Hall, Coniston Cold. The front of this building is shown on 1331005, so I have submitted a view from the rear. An internet search found the following quote from an art sale catalogue: "Coniston Hall was sold in 1969 by order of the executors of Mrs. Tottie's son, the late Richard Tottie".

The lane to Bell Busk, Coniston Cold The church is at the top of the rise (why is this called 'Hospital Hill'?), and then the lane drops down to Gill Syke and the River Aire at Bell Busk.

Coniston Lake. This is clearly the dominant feature in this square. Unfortunately it is made perfectly clear that the great unwashed are not permitted on the shore of this lake - this is the nearest I could go. I was tempted to creep in for the sake of a perfect geograph, but then I would put my name to a clear trespass wouldn't I?

Tucked Away Cottage was fantastic in every way. Very tastefully furnished, immaculately clean and perfectly located. We’ve been using self catering accommodation since 1999 and this was probably the best place we’ve stayed at. The hosts were very helpful and provided enough basics to get you started ...

Pen-y-Ghent makes up one the Yorkshire 3 peaks which, if you accept the challenge have to complete all 3 peaks and 24 miles within 12 hours. Most people start with this one (the smallest of the 3 ) from the nearby village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale. I’ve completed the challenge many years ago in my youth and this time we just tackled this one on a circular 6 mile walk. We took the 3 peaks ascent route which is steep in places and involves a scramble up some rocks near the end but the views

This is beautiful Bolton Abbey in Wharfedale at the foot of the Yorkshire Dales. The now ruined abbey was founded in 1154 but dissolved by Henry VIII in 1539. Dare to cross the sixty stepping stones to cross the river but beware of the Strid with its dangerous eddies of water.
