A lovely place and ideal location.

A lovely place and ideal location. I only have 3 for cleanliness as it was dusty in the living room and there was bits of debris in the grooves on the dining room table. The bedrooms were really comfortable and clean.

We have stayed at penny rigg several times.

We have stayed at penny rigg several times. The cottage is comfortable, warm and cozy. Great village location. Having 2 ensuite rooms suits friends and families. Well appointed bathrooms and comfy beds with decent bed linen. Perfect for all local walks, parking to rear.

We parked the car on arrival and never used it again,so many walks from the door.

We parked the car on arrival and never used it again,so many walks from the door.A welcoming pub ‘the ship’ a pleasant stroll along the old railway,just cross the road and walk past the old miners cottages.Just an unpleasant welcome was several very smelly bin bags by the gate,not a good impression.

Well equipped, high standards cottage. Great bedrooms with en suites to a high standard. Off street parking. Good positionDisappointed that there was no possibility to enjoy the experience of the log fire!!
