Gulfstream - Great Location - Needs Work!!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family prefers the Gulfstream since about 1995 and over the years we have referred lots of friends to stay there. Great location and place for families to enjoy the beach. That said, the last two times we have been assigned units with bad mattresses and couches that even children complain sleeping on. This visit, I requested a unit with a Queen and 2 twins - received 2 Queens. While this might work for most families, I was very specific in what I needed to accommodate my 84 yo mother (stroke survivor) who cannot climb onto high mattresses and twins usually are lower. I was assured by reservation this unit had that. It did not. Management refused to accommodate a change to a different room or discount the stay. Their offer was to downgrade to a room without a view, leave, or stay. Now if you have an 84yo parent who wants to see the water since she can't GO to the BEACH - would you downgrade? Changing sleeping arrangements to make it work, one adult had to sleep on the couch with a grown teen and both ended up sleeping in the chairs because the couch was a disaster. To the point, we had to get an air mattress to finish out our stay.As "visitors" pay a premium to stay here, it should be incumbent on the Owners to provide decent beds to sleep on - including sleeper sofas. Reservations need to ensure what is asked for and what is promised is actually delivered.Housekeeping staff are great - but they never came by so we took our own trash out.The Elevator broke yet again -- and this is a well known and long time issue which I ask -- why are they not replaced?I will not disclose the unit number but it's on the 4th floor.
