"Lovely property, definitely not a hotel for anyone with physical challenges due to steep narrow winding stairs and no elevator. Delicious golden syrup shortbread treats in the room daily. Super kind and helpful staff that pre-arranged our pick-up and return to the airport at a fixed price of 125 pounds."

"A beautiful, tidy and clean room. The staff are so, so helpful on check-in and let us leave our case at the property the next day whilst we were with our daughter at her college. The room has wi-fi and air-conditioning. The hotel is situated right in the city centre which is fantastic but at the weekend you have to allow for students partying. Would we stay agin? Yes indeed!"

"It's a lovely hotel in a listed building so no lift just winding stairs so it's probably not for people with limited mobility or vast amounts of luggage although the manager did get a member of staff to carry my case to my room while I was checking in. The stairs aside, it was clean and the staff were really friendly. It's right in the centre of Oxford, so is handy for all the city centre shops, restaurants and museums. Although there is no room for a restaurant the hotel has negotiated a discount in the next door cafe (which does a great full English Breakfast) and also a nearby Italian restaurant for dinner."

"The location is fantastic for touring the university and city, and has lots of very good to great dining options in easy walking distance. The bed was very comfortable and everything clean. The building dates to 1600, so the stairs are tight and boards creak throughout, which may be embraced as part of its character or an annoyance. We liked it very much and would definitely stay again. Management was very kind."
