“Convenient location was good... the room itself wasn't very clean though. Looked like it had been wiped down with little effort! Also, there was a room deposit that was unexpected!! When I booked the room, I asked for a total including taxes,fees, and all charges! Then I find out, at check-in, there's a deposit required!! I doubt I'll stay at this particular property again!”

“We stayed here previously in the week on our way to Charleston, and on our way back north. We loved the location. The view of the Reuse River. Very walkable to the center of town where there’s shops and restaurants. ”

“Amazing stay here! The staff is so friendly from the front desk to the cleaning crew. The only downer was that you can’t stream Netflix or anything on the tv. ”

“Check in was quick and staff was friendly. Room wasn't very clean. Used soap and bandages in shower upon arrival. Killed three cockroaches in two night stay, but I'm sure there were plenty more. Walls are thin, so noise from other guests and busy highway outside is sometimes noticeable. You get what you pay for.”

“This B&B provided what was probably the best B&B experience we have ever had. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, as were the public rooms. and our bed was very comfortable. Adequate parking was available in the rear of the property. The breakfast food was amazing. Innkeepers Tracy and Gretchen Du Peza could not have been nicer, especially when we missed the usual check in time by several hours. The rate was more than reasonable. We will certainly stay at the Benjamin Ellis House……

“What a wonderful getaway cottage in New Bern! Perfect location and within walking distance of every attraction. Very quiet with available parking. Breakfast was amazing and Mark was the best host. ”
