Welcome to your private oceanfront retreat in Maple Bay, British Columbia. This charming 860 sq. ft. studio suite offers breathtaking ocean views and a serene setting just 22 steps from your own patio. With over 100 feet of exclusive oceanfront and a two-level patio extending over the water, you'll be enveloped in tranquility, listening to the soothing sounds of the sea. Look out for seals, otters, herons, eagles, and occasionally orcas in the tranquil bay across from Salt Spring Island. Guests rave about waking up to the gentle waves, unwinding on the oceanfront patio, and picking fresh fruit from the trees just outside the suite.

The south-facing suite features a luxurious queen-sized sleigh bed with ocean views. The fully equipped kitchen, with a dishwasher, fridge, and stove, also boasts ocean views from the bay window. For your comfort, the suite includes a 40" Sony flat-screen TV with cable and PVR, internet, a cast iron propane fireplace, and a heat pump for quiet heating and cooling. Additional amenities include a full bathroom, in-suite washer and dryer, quality bedding and towels, and a private deck with a BBQ. Whether you're enjoying a sunrise from the sleigh bed or a cozy movie night, this suite combines comfort and charm for a memorable stay.

Perfect chillax

Rejuvenating Stay

The property was perfect for us. Amazing views!! Everything you could need for supplies. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. We needed a rejuvenating 2 week stay and we got just that. Can't think of anything that would have made it better.

A little peace of paradise

Beautiful property, amazing view from everywhere in the suite and it had everything we needed for a great 10 day get away. The host was so friendly and there if we needed but otherwise, did not see at all. We really want to come back!

Magical Spot On Water's Edge

This property is just the right size for a couple. It is in a beautiful location on Maple Bay. Communication was easy with the owner and he was available if needed.

perfect setting

We wanted to stay somewhere near the ocean view, with lots to explore in the vicinity, and this lovely place delivered. The weather was too cool and breezy for kayaking, but perfect for hiking up Maple Mountain, and a long walk to the distant marina for a cold drink. We enjoyed using the fire pit as the stars came out, and just gazing at the water from the kitchen, or the easy chairs, was so relaxing. The kitchen is very well equipped, which is much appreciated. We would definitely visit this property again, and hopefully get out in the kayaks as Maple Bay is lovely.

Wonderful getaway

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our brief (3 night) but very relaxing stay at the Maple Bay studio. The space had everything we needed, was very clean, and tastefully decorated with delightful touches everywhere. The shower was a bit small for my tall husband, but the bed was comfortable and the view of the ocean was gorgeous. We particularly loved sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs just looking out to sea at the seals, boats and islands. Using the kayaks and paddleboard was a real treat, and we were even visited by an otter - so cool! It was just the quiet escape we needed. Huge thanks to our wonderful hosts - would love to come back some day!

Seaside Tranquility

My wife and I had a wonderful and relaxing time in the Seaside Casita during a week in September. The studio was well equipped and very comfortable, and the reinvigorating view of Maple Bay was stellar. We enjoyed spending time at the water’s edge, only a dozen or so steps down from the studio. Two sea kayaks were available for our use to explore the coastline around the bay. The location was close to hiking, pubs, wineries, and restaurants. John and Patricia were incredible hosts who were always available to answer any questions, and handled the one unexpected hiccup (a hot water tank replacement) very professionally. We look forward to returning next summer.

Amazing!

We had to be out of our house for flood restoration, so we were not exactly in a vacation mood. But this place lifted our spirits. A convenient cozy set-up with all the amenities needed--and that's saying something for what turned into a 3 weeks stay! The view is stunning, and sitting by the ocean can calm the most frazzled of nerves. The hosts are incredible--gracious, accommodating, and super friendly. They are there if you need them, but in no way encroach on your personal space or privacy. We highly recommend staying here if you're in the Cowichan Valley area. Thank you, John and Patricia, for making a stressful period of time so much easier.

Es war alles wunderbar und noch viel besser !!Einzig das Bett war für uns viel zu weich . Sonst war alles vorhanden was man so brauchte , von Kaffee , über Gewürzen, und Eiswürfel . Das beste ist die Aussicht und die Kajaks!

Waterfront tranquility

The unit was perfect for a private getaway. It was right on the water in between Nanaimo and Victoria. There are plenty of hiking and biking trails within an hour drive.

Beautiful seaside stay

Upon entering the guest suite area through the magical “secret garden,” you are in a secluded quiet place with the lapping of the ocean audible nearby. A well-appointed kitchen with all kinds of appliances made cooking easy and enjoyable. The availability of kayaks was such a huge bonus; it would have been hard bringing our own on this steep property. Would recommend if you need to relax and the accommodation itself is your destination!

Lovely relaxing stay

We really enjoyed the stay at Maple Bay. The bay and surrounding mountains are beautiful, and we enjoyed watching the water and wildlife over coffee every morning. The hosts were very helpful with local recommendations for hikes, towns to visit, restaurants, and other activities. A peaceful and relaxing escape from the busy outside world! Thanks again!

Spectacular View

We stayed for eight nights and loved the experience. I took a picture early every morning out the large window overlooking Maple Bay. Each day had a different look to it. I spent time gallivanting about with my sister, and my husband spent the majority of his time working at the table facing the bay. He was very productive thanks to the Wi-Fi connection and the quiet and beauty afforded him by the location. We had to traverse the driveway and stairs down to the suite, which was manageable but could be an issue in a few years. At that point, we will change how we pack in order to still be able to stay in this lovely location!
