Beautiful old farmhouse in the quiet and tranquil countryside. Close to Bayeaux and centrally-located for D-Day sites. Very well run. Clean and updated room. The owners were very nice and helpful.

The owners were very friendly. Sent us a notice ahead of our visit with recommendations for dining out. We had a delicious continental breakfast. Very clean in a peaceful setting with outdoor seating available in several places.

Les Chaufourniers is such a beautiful property in the heart of Normandy. Florence and Dominique are wonderful hosts who understand what makes traveling so special. We came for a D-day experience and left with a love of Bayeax, Mont St Michel, Honfleur - and Les Chaufourniers in the process.

Perfection in Normandy
My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Les Chaufourniers. Dominique and Florence gave us such a warm welcome and ensured we had everything we needed during our visit. We were in town for the Women’s World Cup match, and as former soccer players, imagine our surprise when we saw a perfectly manicured lawn with two goals set up on the property! We enjoyed kicking the ball around in the afternoon sunshine before heading to Bayeux for dinner and the Fête de la Musique. We also took a few moments to lounge and watch the cows and horses grazing nearby. The entire property is really lovely. Everything is beautifully maintained and the roses smell divine!
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the breakfast each morning – warm croissants, crusty baguettes, fresh-squeezed orange juice, creamy yogurts, homemade jams and more. We also ate dinner here one evening. Florence is so gifted in the kitchen and Dominique is the consummate host! We had a yummy zucchini tart, flaky white fish with vegetables from their local co-op, a cheese course and a delectable homemade apple tart for dessert. We were treated to an aperitif of pommeau (a local specialty) and crisp white wine to complement the dishes. This was a great way to experience some of the local cuisine while getting to know our hosts and the other guests.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Chaufourniers. It’s the perfect base for exploring the D-Day sites, beaches and countryside, and we look forward to our next visit!

Outstanding personalized service!
I cannot say enough about this beautiful bed and breakfast. From the moment we arrived, we knew it would be special. Florence, the owner, was baking something for the next morning’s breakfast, and the whole house smelled wonderful. The property is a remodeled farm house. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and sparkling clean. The property is large and tranquil, with outdoor areas to enjoy a glass of wine or play bocce ball. There are pastures next door with horses and cattle. And the breakfast...everything (including the yogurt and marmalade) was homemade and delicious. It was wonderful to wake up to the smell of freshly baked croissants! Florence is clearly passionate about making her guests feel welcome. She made us a dinner reservation at a rest in Bayeux, about 10 minutes away. We enjoyed conversing with her and greatly appreciate her efforts. I would return to Normandy just to stay here again!
