Upon arrival the house smelled noticeably of mold/mildew. Upon surveying the dock and water access, it was taped off and had fallen into the canal. IE., it was unusable, nothing like the photos. The vacuum didn’t work and likely explains why the carpet clearly hadn’t been vacuumed before arrival. All water (showers, sink, dishwasher, everything smelled of fish. The portable ice maker provided because the freezer ice maker didn’t work was grossly unsanitary. Other than renting the house with a dock that wasn’t able to be used and the foulest smelling water I’ve witnessed in my 48 years on this planet…..it was nicely appointed, had comfortable beds, and was comfortable.

We stayed at this property and the house did have a few issues that we were not aware of. The dock was not usable to be able to fish off of it. The pictures of the dock didn’t match what the property offered which was sad because that was one of the main reasons we rented the property so my father could enjoy the water and fish, and potentially have the option to kayak. The owner did refund a portion of our money since it wasn’t fixed in time so we appreciated that, but we were still bummed. If that’s something you are wanting to enjoy, ask if it’s fixed before renting. The property is situated nicely in a quiet neighborhood and is very peaceful. Lots of shade trees, lots of space inside the house. The house’s water is super strong with the smell of iron. We had to buy gallons of drinking water and even use it for cooking/ washing, so that filter needs to be fixed. Overall, we made the best of it and did have space for our whole family to enjoy the springs and quiet nearby.

Peaceful getaway with surprises

7 night stay. House was very spacious for large family as ours with various ages. Area is very peaceful and quiet however one the selling points of property was fishing pier and dock for mother in law. The dock was destroyed in some recent storms apparently and difficult to access to try and utilize for fishing much less boat rental. Not useable and had red barricade tap across sections. The running bath water is on a well and has a bad iron and sulfur smell and staining the showers and sinks. House was not cleaned prior to arrival and had wasps in several rooms to eradicate. Key pad on door also didn’t work leaving one key for entire duration for group. This is a beautiful home very close to fishing salt or freshwater (minutes) that could have with little effort been an extraordinary rental.

The ohhh No Stay

We stayed there the previous year and it was fine. when we got there this year they gave me the same code as last year and couldn't get in it wasn't the right code. had to contact the owner through VRBO because the # for the owner was wrong when we got in it smelled real bad the water stank made the whole place stink needs a new softner. The house wasn't clean had to clean the shower before i used it and clean the other bathrooms had someone bring me a vacuum. There were wasps in one of the room upstairs. We rented a boat and the dock was mostly gone because of the storm & no one told us. this was not an ideal stay will no stay there again. could have been a yearly thing.

Work

House was in excellent condition and very clean. Excellent location very quite and piece full . Right on river with nice dock and boat hookup. Would highly recommend And if we go back to area would rent again. House is extremely large . 2 living rooms and layer out very well. Also kitchen is huge. Thanks

Summer Family Fling

Such a great property! Plenty of room for large family gathering. Great kitchen with all you need to make meals. We played cards, built puzzles and the kids enjoyed water time in the back yard. Did not have a boat to ride the water but the dock was nice, and the mullet jumping was entertaining. Did see a gator too. The rooms were comfy and the bathrooms plenty. This would be a great place to enjoy in cooler weather and use the fire pit outback. Loved the porches too. Was a wonderful time for all of us.

Lots of alligators

We booked this house for scalloping. It is about 10 mile North of the scalloping grounds however it is a very rough ride. I would not recommend staying here for scalloping. The water also had lots of large alligators that would come up to the dock. Would suggest watching kids closely if they are down there. I would suspect people have been feeding them as they come right up to the dock. The house was beautiful and had lots of space. There are lots of cameras on the property and the host was quick to message about stuff. I didn’t think they were allowed to watch you on camera. I found that part to be strange.

PERFECT!!

Been searching for the right place to scallop and fish Crystal River for years. Went against my rule of not renting anything without reviews and boy am I glad I did. This place is BEAUTIFUL and BRAND NEW! From a boating standpoint it is perfect. The floating dock is huge and there is room for a bunch of boats. Water, electricity and a fish cleaning station on the dock. Bait freezer in carport. Water appears to be fresh water at the dock. The house and dock are about ¼ mile off the barge canal and the boat ramp is right down the road, plenty of parking. No Manatee zones either so much quicker getting out to open water. Checks all my boxes as far as fishing. Inside is huge and is all new as well. My Wife was sold on the kitchen with the professional gas range and island. Weber grill and Blackstone griddle outside on porch with nice outdoor furniture. It was just the two of us for this first trip but this place can hold a bunch of people. TVs everywhere with satellite and streaming. Downstairs Master and bathroom are huge and gorgeous. We didn’t hardly even go upstairs but the three bedrooms and bathroom are very nice and there is a deck across the entire back of the house that is accessible from every bedroom upstairs. Nice set of teak loungers out there to relax on. Bunch of parking, garaged and otherwise, and room for boat trailers. At the end of a quiet culdesac on a wooded private lot. Rear of house is wrapped with porches overlooking the water
