“A really charming and quirky house, perched on an overlook above a bend in the James river. Very friendly host, nice grounds, and plenty to explore in the surroundings. We did some outdoor grilling and a fire in the pit on a very starry night. The kids were disappointed that the hottub wasn't working that weekend, but there were plenty of games and some swings nearby to keep them occupied.”

“Such a lovely stay!! Everything was comfortable, clean, and lots of space to relax and unwind. I don't usually book a shared home, but was sold on the animals. Homeowners were so sweet checking in on us when we arrived while also granting the privacy expected for a booking. Just perfect. A highlight of our stay was the walk to the pond. One of the baby cows, we named Roo, came to greet us and was so precious letting us pet him. Would definitely stay again if in the area.”

“This is a very unique, historic property in the quiet country atmosphere of Buckingham County - but also close to some historic sites and beautiful natural areas. The host, Nancy, is very friendly and welcoming. When we found we were short a few kitchen items, she very promptly made them available. The VRBO cottage, attached to the larger historic bed and breakfast, affords its own special privacy and atmosphere. The grounds, with tables for eating outside, slope down to an inviting gazebo. “This treehouse is darling. Very clean, hosts were super responsive with any questions. The path in is well-marked, a little steep in spots, but not daunting, so wear appropriate shoes. Would definitely recommend!!!”
