Red Roof Inn & Suites Middletown - Franklin is not the best motel, it’s not the worst. The room was large and fairly clean and not too expensive and the staff was friendly so if that’s what you’re looking for then this is the place. A remote human in a robot iPad screen checks you in but if anything goes wrong there is an actual human onsite. The lobby and stairwell smell of cigarettes and slight mold, there is no elevator and we could never get on their wifi but as I said, we were just looking for a large, inexpensive room with two beds to throw our things in and sleep at night so Red Roof Inn worked for our needs.

Smelly, had to register with a virtual screen that was hard to understand, dirty, no elevator, hot, noisy, could hear everything our neighbors said.

No attendant, anyone can enter the property and come and go. Filthy, moldy, smell is horrible. We didn't stay.

Check in is done through a video chat with someone who is not on property. Did not see anyone working when we arrived. The lobby area had a strong unpleasant odor. There is no elevator. Our room was 86 degrees upon arrival and smelt like the lobby but worse since it was hot and more contained. Opened the fridge to see black mold along the seal and noticed the fridge was not plugged in so it smelt badly. We did immediately request to cancel our reservation. We did have to contact Expedia through Chat and they were unable to speak with anyone about a refund so it has been escalated to their offline team so we are currently waiting for a response.

Absolutely would not stay here again or recommend. I normally dont leave a review but since it popped up and asked. For a non smoking hotel it was almost unbearable with all the smoke in the hallways. Ive been in smoking bars with less smoke. When we got to rooms they felt damp, and sheets where dirty and stained. We had to strip beds and take bedding to the front in order to get another set. Not enough towels and they asked for them to be returned (we had to take to desk instead of being brought to room)before you could get more. Staff over all seemed like they were being bothered when we needed anything. I remember back in day red roof being a decent and nice, guess those days are gone. But if the event that brought use there returns we will not be staying there again.

The room was clean. The bed comfortable. Staff business like, not real welcoming. Only offered coffee in the morning and no sweetener options. Just sugar. The hotel appeared clean, but there was a very strange odor. Not exactly sure what it was, but it smelled like marijuana. Could have been some chemical or something....? I suggest some deodorizers might help. Price was OK, I guess.

Bed bugs/ weed smell/ disgusting

Instantly stinks like weeds, when you walk into the hotel. The room makes you feel sick and you start scratching all over you body. The room is covered in bed bugs and numerous other bugs. The pool is disgusting with floating paint chips coming up from the bottom. They are very protective with their towels only allowing you two towels at a time. When i had 3 people in the room. They charge you a crazy cash deposit of 100$ a day. Please do not stay here if you love your family.

Not what I was expecting

The hotel said no smoking but anytime you need walked out in the hallway it smelled like marijuana. There were bugs crawling on the wall. There is no elevator which wasn't listed on the site. There were no towels in the bathroom. The queen size beds are the size of full beds
