THE DEEP DIVE

Some say it's a two minute walk, or with little kids you may clock in at four minutes. But it's an easy flat stroll with a crosswalk that flashes and California drivers who attentively halt when you even think about crossing the road. Enjoy Del Mar's locally famous 25th street beach, which rolls contemplative in the morning and bustles during the day. And then come back to your home away from home: our owners consistently stay here and make little tweaks and improvements, so you know it's truly livable and ready for you.

Great location and well maintained

We had a a great stay. The walk to the beach was wonderful. They do a great job maintaining the property. The only issue we had was our dog. He would bark when the gate that was next to our apartment opened and closed. No protective mini Goldendoodle - no problem…

Just what we needed

This place was perfect for us. Extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked breakfast every morning and enjoyed a glass of wine in the evenings on the back deck. We took morning and afternoon walks on the beach which was just a few minutes walk away from our front door. We look forward to a future stay. Thanks for hostessing us.

Perfect Location For Summer Beach Fun

Every morning we walked two short blocks from the house to take a walk on the beach and swim in the ocean. We would repeat this every evening at sunset! The house is small, but perfectly outfitted with beach toys, wagon, towels, etc. We ate our meals at the outdoor dining patio and had easy access to the washing machine and dryer. It was perfect and stress-free!

Charming beach property

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at Turtle retreat. It is a lovely place with lots of well thought out details to make it very comfortable. It is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood with close beach access to beautiful Del-Mar beach. The restaurants and shops in town are nearby. The host was so nice to work with and communication was excellent. We will definitely be back for another trip.

Good not Great

My family had a good (not great) experience at this property. The location is simply fantastic, just steps away from one of the most family-friendly stretches of Del Mar beach. The house comes fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a beach getaway, from chairs to umbrellas and toys - perfect for families or small groups. What also stood out was the responsiveness and accommodation of the host/property manager. However, I was taken by surprise when I discovered that the property consists of two adjoining units that share parking, laundry, and beach accessories. I may have missed it but I don’t believe this was explicitly mentioned in the listing, and this might be important for some guests to know in advance. We also encountered an issue with the tub backing up, and the host’s suggestion to use a plunger to resolve it left us a bit hesitant, especially with kids involved. Overall, we had a nice stay and would recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet retreat with easy beach access, as long as you’re comfortable with a basic beach cottage setup.

So welcoming. Felt like Home.

It was our first time to San Diego and our first time traveling as a family of four. We couldn’t have imagined a better visit. The hosts were so accommodating and had the best form of communication. The house was kept like a home. The outdoor space was such a safe place for our kids to wonder, explore and play. The bedrooms didn’t leak a lot of light which was great for kids sleep. The house truly felt like a beach home cottage for a family. The neighborhood was so safe and the space made parking hassle free and worry free for a rental cars safety. Thank you for such special memories in such a perfect getaway.

Amazing stay and great hosts

This property is as advertised and is a lovey get away! The host was super accommodating and helped us when there was a travel disruption that caused our trip to go an extra day. Great spot, Excellent management!

This is probably the best managed property we've ever stayed at. Communication was incredible from start to finish. I don't think there is one thing they didn't think of with this house when it came to supplies. Everything was perfectly laid out for a great experience! Would definitely stay here again.

The location was perfect for the horse show we were attending at the fairgrounds. It's a shout walk to the beach and close to several dining choices. The house is really nice and had everything we needed for our 8 day visit. We come to Del Mar once a year and plan to stay here every time.
