Farmstay in Domme - Villefranche du Périgord

"My husband and I and our two adult children enjoyed a superb two-week vacation in Daglan in this beautiful home. We loved the location for it's proximity to both well-known and lesser-known sights, but most especially we loved the lovely and friendly town of Daglan, and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in local French culture. Beatrice and Jean-Paul and the local Daglan people were so very welcoming, and made us feel at home in their community. Daglan is a gorgeous little village that provides all you need: bakery, grocery/liquour store, casual restaurant, a fine-dining 1-star Michelin restaurant, an extremely charming creperie, and a weekly Sunday market. Additionally, besides many lovely walks right from your door, including the nearby pathway to the river park where you can swim in the river, there is a really good and easy bike route directly from Daglan through the beautiful Ceou Valley to the historic town of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. Along the way there is a crystal-clear-water swimming spot. The bike riding and river dips were definitely among the highlights of our stay. The village of Bouzic is also within easy biking distance and has a charming little cafe and pizza place. Bouzic also has a great night market. Near Bouzic is also the panoramic tower of Moncalou. Finally, the large house, large outdoor patio areas, large garden, and large pool are all so very, very special. We loved the peace, privacy, silence and beauty of the setting. "

"Domme is probably the loveliest place we have ever stayed. The location of the property was superb and the Car Park facility excellent. All communications ahead of our arrival was excellent.But, I doubt we will have enough space within this box to list all our disappointment with the property so this is a brief synopsis, we can supply a more detailed list: There was a dreadful smell within the property, possibly drainage or from under the ground which is in poor condition in several areas: It was generally dirty and in need of a deep clean: Bedding was stained: The sitting room chairs were dowdy: The outside yard was unusable due to the weeds and the state of the walls and the drain: The top of the staircase and entry to the first floor bedroom was seriously dangerous, a major health and safety risk: The planter at the front of the property was full of weeds: The WiFi did not connect automatically as stated: Not as pictures advertised on your site! "

"The host was so welcoming. He and his wife made us feel right at home. We immediately felt comfortable and like we weren’t just guests in their home but long time friends. Their hospitality was so appreciated. And the home made breads, yogurt, and preserves didn’t hurt either!! 😉 Highly recommend!"
