"A large well equipped cottage in a small rural village. Access was difficult due to local road closures, however parking was good. There was an excellent pub nearby but no local food shop. The kitchen was very large and well equipped as was the lounge. There was a nice garden with country views. The patio decking needed some repair.There were two bathrooms, one upstairs for 3 of the bedrooms and an en suite off the downstairs bedroom. The en suite was a small wet room without any shelving...

"Lovely hosts. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, don’t worry if you’ve forgotten anything! Has been decorated since photographs were taken so now more country cottage than Scandinavian. Terrace and outside of property very dusty but it is a farm yard and the weather was extremely hot. "If you’re scrolling for a hotel PLEASE KEEP SCROLLING. Absolutely disgusting & filthy. In the words of my partner, “if we had a dog, I wouldn’t let that stay here ……” To get into the room we had to move bags of rubbish outside the actually room to start with. Walked in and found a towel used by the previous guests still in the bathroom ( and we could tell as it was dirty and stained ) . The room was stuffy with no air and couldn’t open the windows as painted closed. The view was of the dilapidated car park …. The bed had springs that creaked with every tiny movement and sticking up beyond the mattress. The carpet was stained and the rooms paintwork was dirty, chipped and a ‘lovely’ hue of yellow, where once it should’ve been white ! We did complain and asked for a refund, which came from Expedia but in the princely amount of £30…… But the hotel seemed to have not cared less… Makes me wonder if Expedia actually check any of their hotels on the website as I’m sure if any reputable travel site actually saw this with their own eyes, they’d have taken this down and not advertised it. We ran so fast that in hindsight we wished we’d taken photos as seeing is believing. "

"Great location, disappointing stay (Room 129) The hotel is in a fantastic location right on the High Street and looks lovely from the outside. The bar area is nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. However, the experience quickly became underwhelming. The hotel feels tired throughout, stairs and carpets need refurbishing, and the lift is very small and dated. While it’s an older building, it lacks upkeep. We stayed in Room 129, which was bland and lacked character, with plain décor. The carpets needed cleaning, especially in corners. The bathroom was small and a bit dingy. The bed was extremely soft and uncomfortable, with an uneven feel. The TV was mounted crooked, and the curtains didn’t block out light properly. The net curtain looked grey and unclean. Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. Aside from self-service coffee and cereal, everything (even toast) had to be ordered, leading to delays and a frustrating experience, one of the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Overall, while the staff were pleasant and the location is excellent, the hotel feels worn and didn’t meet expectations. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return."
