Overall I’d say this place is okay. The view is outstanding and the reason we booked this place over others. The pool is small but does the trick and the canoes, sandpit, and bonfires are also nice. As expected the rooms are older but they’re a good size. The smell of what I assume is the septic vent is horrendous and you can smell it every time you walk by, which you are forced to walk by if you are in the building on the right. I don’t think this place is worth the price as it is comparable to nicer resorts in more convenient areas, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

The property was well maintained. The property was right on the lake! We were only a few minutes south of Egg Harbour. The amenities included a heated pool and hot tub, kayaks and canoes, basketball and tennis court. Thére were also two fire pits, a big sandbox, and a play center for children. We stayed for four nights and will go back again!

Certainly quiet. Decent on-site facilities, but if you're looking for something more exciting or close to nightlight this is not your place. If you like cooking for yourself the unit kitchens and on-site grills are more than sufficient. Kayaks, canoes, and bikes amply available for free. If you're a runner or a biker, no trails or paths accessible other than the road/highway. Pool and hot tub good with long hours. Convenient to Egg Harbor and from there up the coast to Fish Creek and further north.

Hubby and I are so glad we booked The Shallows after several years of considering it. Rooms are nice, very clean & very roomy. The Shoreline unit we stayed in was 100' or so walk to the water. Lots of seating options to sit and enjoy the Green Bay and the wildlife. We were looking to rest, relax & de-stress and boy did we. The Shallows felt homey from the get-go and the wooded surroundings & the water lapping on the shoreline gave us the relaxation we were seeking. We'll surely be returning.

A Special Place

Such a wonderful place! Swimming, kayaking, sitting around a fire, watching the amazing sunsets or just reading a book beside the lake. Top it off with comfortable lodging and amazing owners. This place is special.

Rustic Location

The Shallows Resort was nice and quiet, located near the bay. Picturesque. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. All appeared clean, however the room did have a musty smell throughout our entire stay.
