Great Views

The views from the backyard were stunning. The house was very spacious and comfortable. Access to the beach was a little bit more difficult than described. We would definitely stay at this house agian.

Family Reunion

This was the perfect place for a small reunion of cousins. Stunning views, lots of space to spread out, great kitchen to prepare meals, lots of seating options to dine inside and outside on the deck. We spend many hours in the morning and evening just enjoying the view out by the bench area. Our view included amazing view of the rock formations, as well as whales, dolphins, and also hearing the seals every evening. We loved the architecture of the home and its connection to the history of the community of Elk.

Great property!

We had the best time staying at this place! First, the views were incredible and we loved relaxing in the hot-tub while watching the water. Second, the home itself was perfect for our group. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out, an amazing kitchen where we gathered for meals cooked on the AMAZING stovetop, and comfy bedrooms. The upstairs "game room" was also a great place to hang out and relax. Highly recommend the space and the town of Elk!

Wedding weekend in Elk

My family was in Elk for our son’s wedding @ Cuffy’s Cove , BellaMare was the perfect location . Easy to get back and forth to the venue and convenient for other guests and family members to stop in. The house is spacious, well layer out for us, we had 6 adults and 2 children and had more than enough space. The views and hot tub are spectacular! Highly recommend

Nice large older house, wonderful views

We recently went on a weekend getaway with friends, all 12 slept comfortably. The property is older but overall in satisfactory condition. The views from the deck and house are incredible. 3 of the 5 bedrooms share these views. Reservations and house information was readily available. All appliances and the hot tub worked great! Overall a great long weekend!

Everyone had fun

We loved the room & the great views. Having one key was crazy, with all the different families, but we used the lock box. A keypad would have been nice. The hot tub was great also, but didn't work the last day:( Pool table was fun & the kitchen was great. Thanks for the towels for the hot tub, that was also a nice touch.

Large quirky home for a family gathering

Beautiful property, fabulous ocean views, older but charming home with lots of room for our family. We could have used a larger frying pan and more glasses and silverware. That's the only reason I took off one star. We had a lovely weekend for our sons wedding up the road.

Great house for a big family getaway

We had a group of 7 adults and 4 children (ages 10 to 4) at the house for a week. We had a great time and the house was a perfect size. There was plenty of play space, a big kitchen and dining area, and room for adults to spread out. We made good use of the hot tub and patio area as well. The cooks in the family loved the big stove and oven available and the hikers and sightseers loved the immediate access to Highway 1 and the local beach down the road. The town of Elk is sleepy during the winter but the general store was open and had the essentials we needed. I would recommend this house for anyone looking for a quiet coastal getaway with a large group.

Met the expectations and then some

Overall, great property and beautiful home. Incredible views of the ocean, keep your small children away from the cliffs. The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment and fulfilled our needs. Needed to make a short 25 min trip north to Mendocino for groceries. Not surprising for a New Years trip, most everything in Elk was closed. The hot tub was great, as was the fireplace. Bring your own lighter to light the range if you would like to cook. Extremely spacious home with decorating from many years ago. Would definitely book this home again.

Nice house, nice location. met vacasa local manager who said they would send somebody over to bury the dead deer. He ended up just throwing it over the cliff. Nice "dead smell" as you looked at the ocean. Half the bathroom doors don't have locks. One bedroom has no closets(except for owner's), outside deck is been rotten for years. Hot tub cover is so old the underneath ribbons are falling in the hot tub. No furnance for a day and half...no response from local vacasa manager. Pool table has a foot long gash that's been there for years. Kitchen is great. 3 large rooms downstairs is great. Upstairs is a fun place to be for kids. All seven us did enjoy the home. With some maintenance management this place would be great.

Great location with many shortcomings

Great location, spacious, hot tub, fantastic fire pit but internet for ½ hour per day and for just a few devices - and that only after resetting the cable modem and the router. When we arrived the kitchen was a mess - all sticky. We had to clean the kitchen and all the dishes first before using them. The property manager didn't seem to be interested in helping with the internet issue at all - it still didn't work when we left a week later. When the hot tub intermittently stopped working and tripped the fuse they did not check it either... In total - although the house could be a very pleasant place to be it's not well maintained and I will definitely not go there again...

million dollar views, fantastic house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Best part of house: private view of the ocean from the backyard. The photos don't do it justice, but a short walk in the backyard, leads to your own private bluff with views of the ocean. There is a bench at the edge of the bluff where we would sit at for hours and even had wine and cheese there one night. We would do yoga on the lawn overlooking to ocean. Dinners were had on the backyard deck with the ocean views. And of course, the hot tub is outside in the backyard with the breathtaking view. The second best part of the house is the well stocked kitchen and range. We cooked all of our meals in. The bedrooms were cozy, plentiful. Bonus features include the klipsch stero in the living, the pool table up stairs. Also other things like video games, sat tv. The wifi was weak and there was no cell service (tmobile)- but that was ok for us as we really wanted to disconnect from the world. We would recommend rental to all just for the view. But the house itself is fantastic (well furnished, cleaned, maintened) It is a big house and would suit a family well or a 3-4 couples. It was just me and my friend, we liked have all the space to spread out.

Ocean Views for Ever?

This is our second time staying at this property, simply because of the view. The water is so blue it looks like you are in the Caribbean. The beach down the road is secluded and beautiful with sea glass, starfish and more. It's just too bad that the house has so much potential, but is not kept up to current standards. There is a HUGE stove/oven, but renters are not allowed to use the flat grill. The furnishings and fixtures are extremely old. There were mouse droppings inside the drawers! AND, we actually saw one in the middle of the night get into things on the dresser in a downstairs bedroom! The "new" deck is amazing quality, but is not complete and has plastic netting up where it is open to fall through. A deck under construction in a house that is basically rented for the outdoor space and views?????? Based on our last stay, we will not be renting this property again. But let us know if it ever goes on the market. Our group would love to purchase it and restore it to the amazing potential it has.
