These guests changed their names, which is fraud. First line, no, you did not cancel 1/2 way through. I offered Mariam to check out after hearing the doors slamming and slamming about 20 times, as if you were looking for something right after your arrival. You then sent me a message that you were sad and unhappy with the house. I saw you Miriam in the driveway, ashed if you intended on leaving and offered to refund in FULL to find another property and check out, or by the next morning. You said no, it was okay. You then complained no A/C, and as actually advertised there is a large A/C portable unit in each of the 3 bedrooms. When you arrived in the afternoon, the temperature outdoors was only 65 degrees. The windows have the A/C attached to them. One door was slightly off the track, true and we deliberately left a sliding door open for fresh air on arrival. Wow, you increased your complaints here that did not exist earlier and I am being called names. "old lady" and again either a liar or ignorant (below and in the VRBO text inbox. The master bedroom carpet was shampooed, the house was cleaned by 4 housekeepers, and it was in good order. No rats??? I checked under the counters, and no rat issue. The washer left with towels, which I ran myself on your departure and it worked perfectly. The dryer also worked perfectly, but when given the instructions, you did not follow, just said that was what you did. When called about one of the 4 tvs DTV boxes not working, I myself came to figure it out. Since it could not be remedied immediately (took two more days per ATT appointment) I gave a $100 for that issue. This was for the inconvenience of one of 4 tvs in the house not able to use. Most guests would have appreciated this. Where are those items found under one bed? Never received them as the renter Mariam said they would be left in a bag- no. All of the floors were swept and mopped the same day of there arrival. The housekeeper said that her helper was on her hands and knees cleaning under beds. I did not say minor issues regarding the door that was slightly ajar, but did say that it was in need of a repair due to a rusted wheel (which we replace at least every 4 months due to this issue being on the salty air on the oceanfront. On the eve of the 3rd day, Mariam says they want to leave- after 3 days use of the house. I told her since she now wanted to leave, that she could leave at that time, (why did she wait all day?) and I would refund that day if she left then, or I would refund one night if she left the next morning. She said they would be out by 10 am the next day, so she was refunded one day+ tax+ the $100 that I had promised even thought they had 3 other tvs to watch, and both she and her husband said it was okay, and that their son could watch another tv. Later, she insisted that the ATT guy bring a cable box right away, and he (she had agreed) would be there Saturday morning to fix it. The reason I was there 2 times regarding the tv is that ATT (by phone) needed to access the cable box that was in issue. Mariam forgot about that she claimed I ruined her husband's 2 very expensive shirts, then in this complaint she said her son's 2 shirts, that were ruined using the laundry detergent. For more than 20 years I have I used a very good brand, no chlorine in it, "All" and it has been used for years, no complaints and she had already laundered towels with the same detergent. She also wanted me to reimburse her for two shirts. She demanded that I give her a full refund, but used the house for 3 nights before departing. I was kind and professional at all times, as was Eileen when she called her. When checking the tvs, I found that they had 2 dogs not mentioned on the rental agreement as asked them to add them, otherwise the insurance would not cover pet damage. They did do this. As to the fraud issue, you will know when this is settled. I called VRBO and the only thing addressed was to tell me to write it all down in the response. I will be following up further. Chris

Thank you John, I appreciate your review. I am sorry, but there is some confusion regarding a few items. The bike: we offered to pay rental for your stay, not one day- Bikes, easily rented only about a block and a half from the house, and now only a few houses over to Beacon's Beach (installed a about a week after you arrived) there are 8 electric bikes, and a few more a few blocks on Pacific Hwy. The BBQ tank, we thought it was full, but we did replace it first thing the following morning, as we only knew about the problem when called about 6pm. We do have the sliding doors scheduled for replacement later May, as it takes time to get an install, you are right, one of the doors is difficult to open. The hot tub, the cover is damaged, and as I explained to you, the cover is also ordered, but we were giving a 24 week time for it to arrive. It does not affect the use of the hot tub and it does keep the heat in. I appreciated your letting me know about the shower. I am sorry, and if you wanted to move, I certainly would have refunded your money. We do only want our guests to be happy and enjoy their stay.

Thank you for taking time to review. I did offer a full refund to you at the start of your stay, and as far as cleanliness, the house was cleaned thoroughly the day of your arrival. I believe it was explained about the hot tub cover . Ordering a new one I was told 24 weeks to receive it, supply issues. One bedroom inextricably to the laundry room is not connected to DTV, and it has a TV to be used with the DVD player. Noted in advertising.. The only difference in appearance online is a new sofa cover, a different color, or maybe different duvets on beds, but everything else is the same. It is not an ultra modern house, and please read other reviews. No one has ever rated our beach house with less than 4 stars, usually 5. We tried to help, but the refund offer was as we always will offer. If you were unhappy you had the choice to move as we really want all guests to be happy, as our many return guests are.

We have housekeepers and do not charge unless you were to really leave a horrible mess, but charging extra is absolutely rare in any case. Basic use is expected. It was unfortunate that the rain was more than we would normally have- a lot more. We did have a turnover due to the holiday week or would have given a later check out time to you. I was surprised about the measuring cups, as they have probably been put someplace new by a previous guest and my apologies that you had to purchase some. No kidding, this is the first time I have heard that the lay-out of the house is strange. People really like the way it is gathering in the front, and privacy between the bedrooms. We appreciate the note about a leak in the bedroom so that we can take care of it, and as for rodents, we are talking to the neighbors to the north, as they have huge trees that are growing over the fence which is where those annoying pests are coming from. We had put some traps out, and I am so sorry that we were not able to take care of during the stay, as there was a back to back turnover for your stay. Kindest regards, Chris

Sorry to hear Steve. It is easy to remove the "soft" memory foam toppers, and very occasionally people do this. The mattress in the master bedroom is actually new, not old.
