「We took a long weekend and stayed at The Lake House for the first time. This is a wonderful place. Peaceful and quiet, we enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the water. It was clean and comfortable and felt like home. Highly recommend!」

「The cabin was clean, had plenty of supplies (bedding, towels, etc.), and the property was beautiful. We really appreciated the use of the watercraft. Andy was a great host, and super easy to get ahold of. Overall we had a wonderful stay. 」

「The cabine was in the perfect location as it was close to all of the places I needed to go while I stayed for the weekend. It was a little confusing finding the correct door to get into but that was a very minor issue and did not cause any problems once we figured it out. Still deserves 5 stars. It was clean, organized, labels on everything, information clearly available to know everything we needed for our stay. I wish I would have had more time to enjoy the cabin as there was plenty to enjoy...

「The house was spacious and lovely, just as pictured online. There was ample room for our group of 26. The outdoors were also beautiful and inviting, as pictured. We had a pickleball tournament (organized and equipped by the kids), volleyball, hide-and-seek (always a favorite) and more. No WIFI or working TV kept the kids off-screen for a few days, but they hardly noticed!」

「This unique place has it all: charm, class, comfort, beauty, and fun. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous staircase leading to most of the rooms. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious bathroom. The gourmet kitchen is equipped for anything and everything with seating for eight. The adjoining dining room has a large table with additional seating and windows lining two walls. And clean! This VRBO was impressively clean! I have to say the jail was a little eery after dark, but...

「Came to Elkader for a quiet stay, not disappointed. Katherine and Michael were excellent hosts, unit 1 exceptionally clean and cozy. Hotel quality linens, modern unit with homey touches. Loved Michael’s breakfast in the morning. Ate dinner at St. Olaf Tavern, would recommend, short drive from Elkader. One block to Turkey River, nice areas to sit along the river. Elkader has other good restaurant options right in town.」
