Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Beuningen vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and remember to pack a jacket in case it gets cool. Always opt for roomy, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from happening. Wearing a good pair of compression socks is also recommended.
