If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a worry-free start to your vacation in Covasna. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a great experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your bag for your laptop, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural-fiber clothing and take a cardigan in case it gets cool. Pick a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from happening. Wearing a quality pair of compression tights or socks is also a wise idea.
