Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Gascoyne Junction holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and pick slightly roomy, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
