If you're poorly prepared, traveling can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks and enjoy a worry-free start to your vacation in Kellogg. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favorite shows are some terrific options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like ski poles, and items that could harm other people, such as pepper spray and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural fibers and take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin. Go for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your luggage.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to lower your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression tights or socks, drink plenty of water and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Wander around the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
