No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your La Paz escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
