Romantic Lake Cabin Escape: PVT Hot Tub/ Fire Pit
Top Tyler Host opens `Uncle Toad`s Cottage`- Romantic Lake Cabin Escape w/ PRIVATE HOT TUB, FIRE PIT & LAKEVIEWS. A Nature escape cabin surrounded by trees & a short walk to Lake Palestine. Stunning rustic/modern design w/ Native Texas Pecan floors. Tin roofed front porch. Full kitchen & bath, living & dining area. Romantic upstairs Loft bedroom offering lake views from the King bed w/ catwalk to window. Lookout for bald eagle & bring your fishing pole. Natural Cold Plunge on-site Nature Getaway in the Heart of Rural Texas: Secluded Cabin with Private Hot Tub & FIre Pit and incredible Lake Views! Welcome to our peaceful retreat, tucked in the woods and just minutes from the lake. Set on our Private 22-acre Farm, this is a true country setting, where you’ll walk grassy trails, drive down dirt roads, and be surrounded by trees, wildlife, and the natural beauty of Texas.
It’s a perfect spot for couples looking to unplug, slow down, and reconnect. Watch the sunset, stargaze by the fire, or enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by nature. Whether you`re celebrating something special or simply craving quiet time together, you`ll find it here.
Please note: The property is hilly, and it’s a walk down to the lake, to the ponds, and to most areas on the land. It’s not recommended for anyone with mobility issues or those who may have difficulty navigating uneven terrain.
Expect to experience the seasons — it’s hot in the summer, cold in the winter, and the weather can shape the landscape with overgrowth or erosion. We maintain the property, but nature always has a say.
We love our wildlife neighbors and we work to preserve their home. As part of this natural setting, you may encounter bugs, spiders, poison ivy, snakes, and other woodland critters. We encourage guests to be aware and respectful of the environment around them. If you appreciate the outdoors, you’ll feel right at home.
We’re dedicated to preserving the Natural Texas Ecosystem. Our property is a safe habitat where local wildlife can thrive and raise their young. During the growing seasons, the landscape can be a bit wild or overgrown, which is part of our commitment to keeping things as natural and untouched as possible.
We also farm organically on the property and aim to stay chemical-free. The presence of spiders and lake bugs is simply part of life here—it`s all part of the charm of an authentic Texas lake and woodland stay.
But if you`re expecting a sterile hotel experience or a bug-free zone, this may not be your ideal fit. Dirt on your shoes and the occasional scratch from a tree branch are part of the adventure.
Guests have full private access to the cabin and totally secluded in a wooded spot, with Private Hot TUb overlooking the Lake, but will share access to several unique outdoor features across the property:
• PARKING – Convenient parking is located directly at the cabin
• PRIVATE FIRE PIT– Perfect for cozy evenings under the stars.
• PRIVATE HOT TUB – Right on the porch overlooking the Lake!
• WALKING TRAILS – Hilly trails through the woods that lead to two different lake access points on Lake Palestine.
• LAKE ACCESS & SMALL FISHING PIER – Swim or fish at your own risk.
• OUTDOOR NATURAL COLD PLUNGE – A refreshing dip for the adventurous. (Seasonal; LIMITED AVAILABILITY)
• DISC GOLF COURSE – Listed on UDisc as “lakecabinescape” in Flint, TX. Bring your own discs and enjoy a fun challenge right on the property.
• 2 NATURAL PONDS – Great for exploring and relaxing, but no fishing in the ponds at this time.
• PLENTY OF NATURAL TEXAS ECOSYSTEM – Enjoy the wildlife, wildflowers, and the raw beauty of the land.
PLEASE NOTE: The Cold Plunge is filled with natural, chemical-free, mineral-rich well water. Availability may vary depending on weather and seasonal conditions—please check with us first to confirm if it`s ready for use.
We live on the same private 22-acre farm in the original farmhouse and are nearby if you need anything during your stay. You may see us out working in the gardens, tending the landscape, or walking the property.
There are five cabins and a lake house on the property. The trails, natural lake access, fishing pier, ponds, hot tub, and cold plunge are shared spaces. The natural setting offers plenty of room to explore, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. We’re always happy to help if you have questions or need anything—but we respect your privacy and want you to enjoy the peace and beauty of the land
Our cabins are nestled in the woods near the deeper side of Lake Palestine—a 25,000-acre fishing and recreation lake with over 120 miles of shoreline. You’re just a short walk to the natural shoreline (no beach), and occasionally you may hear the nearby Tyler lift station.
We’re only 2 miles from a Brookshire’s grocery store and a few fast-food options including Whataburger, Subway, and Sonic. The property is also close to several public marinas, making it easy to get out on the water. The City of Tyler is a 20-minute drive with restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. You’ll also find several charming small towns nearby with wineries, antique stores, and scenic drives.

The cabin is nestled in the woods near the lake, so you can expect bugs, poison ivy, occasional snakes, and other natural critters common to East Texas forests. Please stay alert and aware while exploring.
Chiggers can be active in tall grass from May through August—please bring bug spray if you plan to spend time outdoors.
IMPORTANT: The cabin features an open loft bedroom accessed by a steep staircase. This is not recommended for guests with mobility issues, small children, or anyone uncomfortable climbing ladders.
STRICT NO-PET POLICY: Due to the cabin’s construction and the owner’s severe skin allergies, no animals of any kind are allowed. We handle all laundry and most cleaning ourselves and cannot make exceptions. Please respect our health and do not ask for exceptions. There are many pet-friendly options around the lake.
There is no cable or wired internet. Limited jetpack Wi-Fi is provided, but streaming and TV ARE NOT GUARANTEED.
The cabin includes a full-size sleeper sofa with extra linens. It’s perfect for romantic getaways and ideal for couples, though it can accommodate a small family. Please note the space is tight for more than two adults.
We strive to protect the natural Texas ecosystem and provide a safe habitat where local wildlife can thrive and raise their young. Our property is native and may be slightly overgrown during the growing seasons. We practice organic farming around the property, avoiding chemicals whenever possible, and only use pesticides sparingly for nuisance pests. Spiders, lake bugs, and other wildlife are part of this natural ecosystem and the unique experience of staying at Lake Palestine.

The cabin couldn’t have been more clean and beautiful and the hosts were outstanding! If we needed something they were happy to help but also gave us our privacy, I highly recommend!!
Very nice couple's retreat. Cabin look/vibe with modern conveniences. In the woods but close to retail if needed.

Perfect escape
This was definitely a much needed escape from the loud and busy city. Perfect for unwinding and just decompressing.

Enjoyable Stay
This was a nice place to stay. It had all the things offered mentioned in the description. The stairs to the loft are very narrow and steep, which was mentioned to us beforehand, but be aware. I wish they had stair treads on them but I am clumsy. ha ha Otherwise fine place to stay. Air is very cool inside. My only wish? We were in town for a wedding and there is not any place to hang nice items, suits and dresses, upstairs in the loft . But this is not really the place where most people might stay for a wedding weekend. It is more for Rustic activities, outdoor adventures and hanging out casually. Nice communication with hosts when needed. Thank you for sharing your Cabin.
