A spacious apartment just in front of the Galleria dell’Accademia, the home of the original David by Michelangelo and a stone’s throw from the Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo area. This apartment is the perfect accommodation for families or groups (up to 6 persons) looking for an authentic Florence experience and desire to delve into the heart of the city on foot.

On the third floor of a building with no elevator, the apartment is made up of a large and full of light living room, a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms with double bed, and another bedroom with a double bed on a raised floor (each bedroom has a private bathroom).

The apartment can house up to seven adults and is ideal for groups or large families.

Facilities:

Free WIFI internet, air conditioning, sheets and towels, a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, bathrooms with shower, hairdryer, coffee pot, toaster, iron and ironing board, TV, and washer.

Self-check-in

The apartment is equipped with home automation access, you can open the street door and the apartment door in total safety and autonomy with your mobile phone. We will send you the instructions a few days before your check-in.

In the house, you will still find a bunch of keys at your disposal.

Place was wonderful and quiet, exactly as described. HOWEVER. We arrived at 2100 hours, the unlock button on the website and the phone number did not work so unable to access the apartment common area and stairs to apartment. I called the listed number for help and was told this sometimes happens. I was told someone would arrive in 15 to 20 minutes. I made two more calls and each time the response was 20 more minutes. At 1 hour wait a lovely lady arrived and let us in and assured we were able to access the apartment door at the top of the stairs. I tried to communicate with the owner/contact person about the issue and was ghosted. After 26 hours of travel this was not a great experience and I would recommend booking a place that has a physical key in a lock box to get in.

Pros and Cons in Central Florence

I am not a complainer. Given that this property was more or less as presented, in an old building and in an old part of town, I wasn't too bothered by a number of minor inconveniences: the 45 steps up to the apartment; the stairway badly in need of cleaning and fresh paint; the noisy and somewhat gritty location; the one hot bedroom with no AC; even the occasional roach. And we appreciated that two of the three ensuite bathrooms were bright and modern, if small. However, what I CAN'T accept is being lied to. After arriving at check-in time to find the apartment had not been cleaned (apparently a staffing / sickness issue), the host assured us that two new cleaners would be there promptly to finish the job. One came, and did NOT finish the job: The main ensuite was left with the previous guests' towels, and the floors had not been washed. After explaining this to the host, he again promised that a new crew would be in to re-do the entire cleaning the next day. Despite our follow-up request, we were ghosted; no reply or cleaners came. We were thus left with a large bag of the previous guests' dirty linens in the main bedroom closet for the duration of our stay - although a clean bag of towels was dropped off in the front hall - and a feeling of sub-standard cleanliness. My point is this: A VRBO is not just passive income; it's a business that must be maintained and managed to your guests' satisfaction and the expectations you set. In our case, the host dropped the ball.

Place looks exactly like photos. As stated in the description there are many steps and no elevator. While noisy during the day because it is located across the street from the Accademia, it is very quiet at night.

Loved this apartment. Lots of room. Across the street from the David Museum so it’s busy in the street there but quiet once the museum closes. Walking distance to all the attractions and train station. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We found the beds very hard if you like your bed hard it’s fine but we were uncomfortable. Maybe a mattress topper would help. The pillows were very hard as well. Liked that there was a washer but no dryer but there is a drying rack. Be aware there is no elevator and this apartment is at the top floor. There are 6 flights of stairs with 11 stairs per flight. I just want people to be aware. It’s a bit of a climb with suitcases but okay if you have small ones and a little bit of a struggle when you come home at night after a full day of walking. Overall I would definitely stay there again.

Apartment Review

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment there were five adults and the three bedrooms and three full bathrooms worked out very well. The location is excellent and an easy walk to all the major attractions and restaurants in central Florence. There was a small grocery store almost right next door and a number of places to pick up your morning espresso very close by.The check in process was a little inconvenient as you had to go to a separate location to pick up the keys then drop them off when you check-out. The apartment was very well stocked and had everything you needed if you wanted to prepare meals.The only negative was there was a sewer smell from two of the toilets. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
