It was just ok. Very basic room, small but very bare amenities. Bathroom vent very noisy. Towel warmer had wires hanging out and no decor on walls, but seemed clean. The view was good but the price we paid was too much for the quality of room.

This place is not a guesthouse or hotel. Basically just some private rooms. In its favour: very clean and modern. We had nice view over the locks. Shower lovely Things we didn’t like: 1. we were sent an email day before our stay asking us to text a mobile number to get the entry code. No-one text back. Also no reply when I phoned same number on arrival. Had to phone emergency number to get through to someone to get code. 2. Our baggage was delivered by a baggage transfer company. Unknown to us it had been left in the back storeroom of a local cafe. After several stressful phone calls, we were eventually re-united with luggage. Wonder why Gatehouse couldn’t have told us where luggage was! 3. Bedside lamp worked intermittently- one minute on, then off. 4. No shelves or hooks at all in the very tiny bathroom. Only place to keep anything was the floor! 5. We could not get TV to work. All in, just an OK place, but not what you expect for £122 a night!

My husband and I were on a 3 week driving tour of the UK. We booked this place for 1 night and didn’t anticipate it being anything special. I am SO sad we were only there one night! The room was on the smaller side but very nice. The area was absolutely perfect. The food we had was delicious and just steps away. The locals were so helpful and nice. And the walking paths and the views were incredible. I miss this place already! It was a true highlight on our trip. The only issue we had was that we did not receive the email or text with the code to our key box. But my husband made a quick call the number that had been provided with the confirmation of our stay and the gentleman was very helpful and got us all taken care of. I would absolutely recommend this place. And I would stay again and again.

:Property was quite good, clean and ideal location. It is unstaffed and staff can be reached by phone. The outer door was not locked at any time during my stay and thus anyone could get inside, so it is important to keep your room locked. My only other issue is that I would have liked to have a choice of a front or back room.
