“I gave 3 stars because of the historic charm, and walking distance to town. We did not try the restaurant. The carpet on the stairs looks as old as the house. Upon walking into the Morley room I was repulsed by the disgusting carpet, stained with blood, bleach, and who knows what else. The bathroom was clean, but the toilet wouldn’t stop running. The bed was comfortable, but the sheets and pillow cases wouldn’t stay put. There was no staff to be seen until we were leaving, and no coffee until……

“We arrived about 8:30pm and appreciated the open door and easy check-in. The room and beds were very comfortable. The shower was great too! Being at the end of the hall was nice - more private. Breakfast was amazing. We loved the fresh fruit, homemade blueberry muffins, and fresh bread and oatmeal with toppings. Scrambled eggs and toast too. Very comfy stay. We'll be back! Close to The Adirondacks hikes we'd planned.”

“Quaint bed & breakfast on the outskirts of Lake Placid. Personally run with love and care.”

“Lovely hostess at this bed & breakfast where we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. It checked everything on my wish list: relaxing atmosphere, clean room decorated in theme, lake access and a place to sit and enjoy the water and nature. I hope to return !”

“Very comfy room and very spacious. Please note that free breakfast is not included in the stay if you are in one of the cabins.”

“We loved our stay at the Bark Eater!! The property is stunning and we had a lovely time exploring the little trails to the pond and brook. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast every morning was a major highlight. Definitely recommend—we hope to be back soon!”
