Perfect for a youth group

We filled every bed and used the home for a youth retreat. It was perfect for our needs. The kitchen has the best amenities I've ever had access to in a rental. Excellent communication with property manager.

A slice of heaven in the Highlands. Beautiful property and great location. We had a small family reunion and it is a perfect property for that. Close to many hikes and also downtown.

Amazing!!

We had a fabulous stay!!! The kids loved the game room and bunks, the adults loved the hot tub and dining table where many games were played well into the morning hours! We made great use if the kitchen!! Absolutely will be coming back.

Great getaway

This house was just right for our visit to Highlands. The property was very private in a beautiful setting. The weather kept us inside most of the time, which was fine because of all of the games available in the house. But we did get to enjoy the back patio for a little while as well as a couple of yard games they had. Everything was very clean. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Comfortable, family friendly house

We spent 3 nights with family; 6 adults and 4 children. The house has 4 bedrooms; however, only 2 of them are configured for adults. The 2 masters are very spacious and comfortable. The other 2 bedroom configurations are suited for children with bunk beds and a twin bed. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. There are 2 refrigerators plus a wine fridge so plenty of space for food if you are staying with family for a week. We enjoyed the outdoor space where we could use the hot tub after a long day of hiking and relax by the firepit. The Highland area is beautiful and I would recommend Golden Acres if you are looking for a place where the kids can run and where the adults can relax in a peaceful setting.

Fall Family Getaway

The house is beautiful and very well furnished. The bed, pillows, bedding, and towels are new and very comfortable. Plenty of space for a large group to spread out, but the rooms were large enough to all gather together. The property was well stocked with essentials like toilet paper and paper towels, and the showers have soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers which is a nice added touch. Plenty of dishware and silverware for a large group. The stocked coffee/tea bar and snack basket was a special treat. The hosts even cater to your dogs with dog bowls and a basket of toys. The house is near the adorable downtown of Highlands, the river, several waterfalls, and hiking trails, but there is plenty to do right on the property as well. The owners were always quick to respond to my questions via email and promptly delivered a new set of bbq utensils when we realized they were missing. We would definitely rent this property again and highly recommend it. FYI - The kids camp bedroom is super adorable, but quite secluded and far from the master bedroom (it is off the game room - which is the converted garage space- the door behind the game table in the pictures). I do believe they have a monitor though. The downstairs master is very lovely, but a bit colder than the rest of the house (although we found an extra blanket in the closet that was quite warm) and just a bit noisy when the equipment kicks on (right outside the bedroom windows and in the corner of the bathroom).
