Great Getaway

Great place to just relax and enjoy time on island. It was very clean and bright and we had no problems with checking in or out very easy. Beautiful view and sunsets. Would definitely stay again.

Family get away

The cottage is just as advertised! It was a great home base for exploring Whidbey. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the deck was a relaxing place to hang out in the mornings and evenings. We’d love to come back!

Relaxation in Paradise

It reminded me of a painting by Thomas Kinkade called "Evening Majesty" very peaceful, quiet, relaxing and good for the mind and soul. A place everyone should visit at least once or twice maybe even more than that in their life. Also very welcoming. Thank You!!!

Delightful

This is the second time we have stayed in this house. The decor is very cute and colorful and there is so much light streaming in! The bed is SO comfortable! It is definitely older and does not have a dishwasher but it is thoroughly charming and super clean. Perfect location and very private and quiet.

Peaceful Cottage

First Time Summer

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We keep coming back to a Comfy Coastal Cottage (Marcia's), but this was the first time in the summer.What a treat! First and foremost, the mild coastal temperatures (highs in the 20C's compared to 30C+ back home) were such a relief. We were able to spend time on the deck. The Adirondack chairs were very comfortable and well shaded with the patio umbrellas. This gave us an opportunity to see the wildlife that comes through the yard.We saw;hummingbirdsquailbunniesdeer (buck, doe and young male)coyoteand a bunch of other birds.We had a great time and will definitely come back in the summer again.

Great for Celiacs and dog lovers!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recently stayed at the Comfy Coastal Cottage, and it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home in this cozy and charming cottage. The interior was decorated with a beautiful coastal theme and was incredibly comfortable and well-appointed. My wife is celiac and there are not a lot of options for dining out. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare our own gluten-free meals. We loved the wood-burning fireplace, though I recommend presto logs over firewood. (might need a chimney sweep to improve the draw) The outdoor spaces were amazing, with a beautiful deck that offered stunning tree filtered views of the ocean. Lots of room for our dog to explore (on leash of course). On a clear night the sky is amazing, all the stars! Hopefully, in the summer there will be recliners for lounging. The location was also perfect - just a short walk to the beach and a short drive to all the local shops. Overall, I would highly recommend the Comfy Coastal Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable beach getaway. Did I mention the privacy and quiet? Five stars!

A very restful cottage

This place was just right for us. The peekaboo views of the sound and Olympics is a bonus added to a tidy and comfortable cottage. It is close to everything that South Whidbey has to offer and comfortable enough to make you not care if you just hang out and rest.

Great house but…

The house and location were wonderful and the management company (Tara) was the best I’ve ever dealt with. The one drawback was the beds, which were very uncomfortable and difficult to sleep on. I would recommend a 3” foam pad to make them more comfortable.

Perfect

This place is perfect for our needs, as we have family on Bush Point and it was close, but far enough. It is perfectly situated back from the road as well, and very private. We have stayed here twice now, and will likely do so again. It has everything we need to be comfortable. It's not fancy or swanky, but it is the perfect island getaway, and if you know Bush Point, you know it's a great location to explore Whidbey. Communication is easy and check-in/checkout is no problem. Highly recommend.

Good Location, Nice Deck

We enjoyed staying at this property. The deck was outstanding and the home is on a secluded lot. We enjoyed sitting on the deck whether we were reading or having dinner. The living room and bedrooms were nice and the windows offered cross-ventilation so we did not miss having AC. The bathroom and kitchen could use some scrubbing and a new coat of paint. The window screen in the bedroom had a large hole that had been patched with blue painter's tape. It was tacky but it did keep the bugs out. Tara Properties service was very good.

Lovely Cottage, Close to Beach Trails, and Langley

This cottage exceeded my expectations. It was bright and cheery, and just minutes from beach state park and trail access. The proximity to Langley and Island ferries –– including Coupeville/Port Townsend –– was an added surprise. After having battled beach crowds on the Oregon coast what I most appreciate was the privacy and quiet of the cottage's comfortable. (And, finally, as a professor, a qreat and unexpected selection of books!) Will book longer stay next year!

It was a lovely summer retreat

Comfy Coastal Cottage IS comfy

The deck is large & lovely, although the weather didn’t give us many opportunities to enjoy it. The proximity to the state park & to the community forest was great for dog walking. The neighborhood was quiet & neighbors were friendly. Here are my quibbles: after reading previous comments about the bed linens, we brought our own sheets & blankets & I’m glad we did; I don’t think an electric blanket is suitable in a rental cottage since it can’t be washed between guests. Also, the caulk around the tub & shower curtain in the bathroom had mold & mildew.

Great Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very clean, sweet little house. Perfect for us, our 5 yo and 2 dogs. Beach was very close and the house itself is in a great neighborhood. Even though neighbors are close by, the backyard is very private but not fenced in. Only two things I would change: the hot water tank is small so showers have to be very short and the house has baseboard heating- no matter what temp you set it to, it only has two settings: off and surface of the sun. Other than that we loved it and hope to go back again.

Fell short of expectations

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For many years this has been one of our favourite getaways. Alas, while the rental fee has increased almost 100%, there are been no improvements to the property and it is looking a bit tired. I swept the floor when we arrived and rounded up significant dirt and short black dog hair. The lovely chairs and umbrella on the deck were not available for guest use so we perched on the benches. Kitchen utensils required cleaning prior to use (sauce all over the can opener).The previous management made us feel like welcomed family members. How surprised we were to be asked to strip the beds, take out the garbage, and start the laundry! At $408 (CAD) a night that was a bit much.We love Whidbey, love the peaceful location and wish things had been better. We are hopeful that some adjustments might be made and we would happily consider a return visit to this beautiful spot.
