Beautiful house, lovely location

We stayed at the house for my Mum's 93rd birthday. There was plenty of room for us to stay, although it's worth noting one of the bedrooms has a single bed and one bedroom is very big at the top of the house, up difficult stairs. The other 2 bedrooms are good sized doubles, one ensuite. It was lovely that there was 2 lounges and an office, plus the great big conservatory which we used for the buffet for my Mum and it was perfect: quite warm too.Great location - the local deli (Mes Amis) baked a fantastic cake and the local farm shop (White Row) was also excellent. Good communication from the host.

A Mixed Bag

Positives--cottage spacious, very clean, extremely well equipped kitchen, walking distance to village. Negatives--described as "king size bedrooms" but the beds themselves were far from king size--not even Queen size. Made sleeping difficult for two. Location fairly noisy with early morning and rush hour traffic very pronounced because of lack of double glazing. 4th bedroom could only be accessed by tricky stairs to attic.Manager failed to respond to query about key for unlocking sun room windows.

We loved our mini-break at this beautiful cottage, with excellent communication from the owner and wine and cookies to welcome us. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and the smart tv and wifi were welcome for our boys and movie nights. We also visited the local pub, The Forresters, and had some delicious meals. It was a perfect distance from Longleat and we also visited Salisbury. The cottage is full of original and quaint features and I would definitely recommend a stay. Just be aware of the steep stairs up to the attic room, which are in fitting with the age and style of the property, but may prove tricky for someone with physical limitations. It was perfect for our teenage son, however, and he loved having his own floor!Just to note; I read in a previous review, that traffic was annoying, yet we found it perfectly peaceful and could hardly hear any passing cars. The beds were of a good size too. We would definitely return.
