Midweek getaway

First impression was how cute it was. As the time went on, it was not just cute but everything we needed to unwind. The hot tub was great, the fire pit in the screened in patio was so relaxing. After spending time in downtown Galena, we couldn’t wait to get back and relax.

Property was as advertised very clean and comfortable we all had a wonderful time and made many memories. Galena is such a cute town and less that a 15 minute drive we enjoyed shopping and looking around there as well, my kids enjoyed some hiking around the Galena Territory where the house is located, over great long weekend

Galena getaway

My family had a wonderful stay at this lovely home! We had a hiccup on arrival about the previous cleaning crew, but Beth took immediate action to rectify the situation. She was very responsive to questions and wants her guests to have a great experience. This home has everything you need to have a good time, rain or shine. We loved the nightly hot tub, early morning walks, and plethora of games. Wish we had more time to explore the area, it will have to wait until next time!

Great Place in Territory!

Whether you are family with children, or just adults, a fantastic place to call home. From the Jacuzzi to the game tables, outside fire pit, screened in porch and so much more, a great all-around place to stay. So appreciated the fact they allowed pets was a plus. We had two and they loved the vast amount of land around the property. It is a short drive into Galena and a very quiet place to just relax. A big plus is the host of who made the stay so enjoyable as she consistently wanted to make the stay one worth remembering. A place to return!

An Unforgettable Getaway: Exceeding Expectations in Galena

When my wife expressed her desire for a long weekend getaway to Galena, I embarked on an extensive search for the ideal rental home. To begin with, the property surpassed our expectations compared to the online photos and description. It was exceptionally clean, incredibly comfortable, and adorned with tasteful decor. Nestled in a tranquil and secluded location, it provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Furthermore, the host's communication was superb, and we greatly appreciated her attentiveness. Her thoughtful tips and guidance instilled confidence in our choice even before our check-in. Lovely Home

We had a wonderful stay at Beth’s home. We had a couple of issues when we first arrived (regarding the quality of the cleaning crew), but Beth was very quick to make everything right. She was very apologetic and even refunded our rental cleaning fee. The home decor and amenities were just lovely. We enjoyed the clean hot tub and cozy screened porch with the gas fire! We spent many days at the clubhouse pool, then back to the house for a bonfire. Her personal touches set this rental a step above (fresh flower bouquet, a bunch of bananas, and a bottle of Galena wine)! The beds were also incredibly comfortable! We would gladly rent from Beth again!

An Amazing Stay!

Our family stayed here in November for a fun getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was an amazing time! The kids and adults loved all of the games downstairs. The kids also enjoyed the roomy bunk beds and the plethora of toys to play with. Our biggest reason for renting the house was the hot tub, and it did not disappoint! A nice surprise was having Alexa available both upstairs and downstairs. We have formed a bit of a dependence on her at home, and it was so nice that she was able to join us on our trip. :-) Everything was so clean, and it's easy to see that careful attention has gone into decorating and stocking every bit of the house. All of the odds and ends we needed were available and in good shape. Communication with the owner was easy and pleasant. Thank you so much for a wonderful place to spend a big milestone birthday!

Perfect birthday weekend getaway!

This home is an absolute keeper! You have the convenience of town about 12 mins. away, but the feeling of being in a secluded cabin in the woods. The house has been updated and comfortably decorated in a modern cabin style. We LOVED the wood burning fireplace and open living room. Was perfect for entertaining and sharing a lot of laughs together. The main bedroom suite is on the first floor, while the other two bedrooms with private bath were located in the basement. The layout of the house was perfect for multiple families while providing everyone their own private space when needed. It has a well stocked kitchen, cozy firewood, hot tub and a bunch of games. A perfect place for friends or family to spend on a Galena getaway. Above all, the owner Beth, was available and checked in with us multiple times during our stay to insure we had a good time. We will be back :)

Great stay in Galena with amazing host

We loved the house and the area. This was our first time staying in Galena and we spent a lot of the time relaxing at the house. Beth was great, she sent a google doc on the house and area (including how to use equipment in the house, restaurant recommendations..etc) ahead of time. She messaged the night before and said that we could check in early because the property would be ready, which we appreciated. She also emailed the next morning to make sure everything was good with the property. The night before we left there was an ice storm and she called someone to salt right away and let us know that someone would be coming. That impressed us, especially knowing we were leaving and would need to get out of the driveway. The house itself is beautiful, we loved the decor and furniture. Loved the privacy and quiet as the house backs up to woods. It was probably the most "stocked" house that we've stayed at. It's nice to have a host that provides plenty of kitchen utensils and even things like a variety of spices, sandwich bags, but especially enough toilet paper and paper towels. Would definitely stay at this house again.

Girls weekend

I cannot say enough good things about this property. We have been renting houses in the Territory for several years now and this is our favorite! The layout is great, the rooms are all so comfortable and decorated so nicely. You really feel at home here. We got a lot of use out of the fireplace, loved that it is wood burning. The screened in porch was so nice too, with the gas fire pit. Outdoor hot tub was so relaxing and got to enjoy the outdoor fire pit as well. We didn’t leave the house once in our 3 day stay. Cannot wait to return next year! Beth, thank you so much for everything! You are a great host! Oh, the best part of renting this house, no chores! All the other homes we have rented we had to take the garbage out of the house. That was always such a hassle. Not here!

3 great days in Galena Territory

We visited this area with another couple and only had 3 days to stay in this area. We were all very pleased with this beautiful home. It was convenient to go back forth to Galena and local restaurants. The home is very comfortable and furnished with anything you might need in the kitchen and beyond. Our host Beth was extremely helpful and always accessible for meeting our needs. It rained a couple times, so we enjoyed the enclosed porch for reading and relaxing. We would consider going back and even taking grandchildren as there were games, hot tub and extra bedroom they might enjoy. Our favorite restaurants were Fried Green Tomatoes and Green Street Tavern. We also tried the Highlands one evening, and enjoyed the great view which will be spectacular in the fall. We would recommend going on the Trolley to learn the history of Galena. We took a drive one day into Iowa to see the Field of Dreams, and then to make a stop in Cuba City for Wisconsin Cheese. As a note our GPS did work in this area and directly to the home which was helpful. All in all great property and home !!

A true home away from home

I keep telling everyone that this was the most relaxing vacation I think I’ve ever taken, a true home away from home with added amenities (since we don’t have a jacuzzi at home). The house itself was pristine and so well kept - even the furniture was comfortable - and I was expecting a spider or two indoors but there were none (I’m a bit of an arachnophobe…). A moth or two accidentally came in with us, but they were easy enough to handle. Even our dog was at perfect ease; he’s a rough collie who’s always at attention, usually barking at anything and everything that moves, but he barely made a sound! The property was beautiful, and again so wonderfully kept. We enjoyed the jacuzzi a couple of the nights and (since we’re “adult children”) played a few of the games downstairs. This area is so beautiful, and we didn’t even feel the need to seek out area trails because just walking on the roads around the property was wonderful on its own - we felt like we were on top of the world! I can’t say enough about the graciousness and attentiveness of the hostess, too. Had we run into any issues, I have no doubt she would have been immediately responsive. What a beautiful stay, and we expect to be back with friends to show it off! Thank you so much, Beth!

Wonderful time in Galena

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay at this very nice and cozy house. It truly feels like home away from home. We enjoyed morning coffee and sunsets on the screened deck (big plus). The house is beautiful, nicely decorated, fully stocked with everything you would need. I really appreciated a toaster oven. A lot of dishes for a big company, lots of space upstairs and downstairs. Huge deck. Our son took advantage of his space downstairs feeling close but private. The house easily accommodates a family with several kids or two families. Beth (our host) is awesome. She was in touch with us, welcoming to the house, advising on the area attractions and activities. We didn’t have any problems with the stay but I’m sure she would be very responsive to our requests or concerns. We really liked Galena area. Surprisingly, there are lots to do. We went on the Segway tour on Chestnut mountain, stopped by the Galena Cellars for wine tasting, even explored Iowa’s Maquoketa caves. Galena which is about 10 min drive, very beautiful, frozen in time with lots of good eateries and shops. Just a walk down the Main Street and riverbank is relaxing and interesting. The locals are very nice, friendly and welcoming. PT Murphy magic show is a must. Overall, we had an amazing time!
