A little gem in the middle of nowhere.

Very friendly staff and the guys have put a lot of thought into many little areas which make you come away feeling that this is a great place to stay. Very remote with stables and cattle pens, really nice.

Beautiful cottages on a peaceful horse farm. The Gariep Dam and the beautiful reservoir are a short drive away, as is the surprising Gariep Nature Reserve with large expanses along the reservoir featuring springbok, zebras, ostriches, wildebeests, and likely other species I did not see on my visit.

Heerlijk dineren in een landelijke omgeving

Tijdens onze tocht door de Grote Karoo hebben we een nacht doorgebracht op de boerderij van de Van Der Walt familie. We hadden de Borage Garden Suite geboekt, maar kregen een gratis upgrade naar de Lavender Cottage, een volledig huisje met maar liefst 2 slaapkamers. De suites/huisjes bevinden zich op een werkende boerderij en de familie/personeelsleden geven je graag een rondleiding. We hadden half pension geboekt en werden aangenaam verrast met een fine dining ervaring. Marene is niet alleen een fantastische gastvrouw, maar bovendien ook een geweldige kok. De gerechten hadden niet misstaan in een Michelin restaurant. Bedankt Marene voor de gastvrijheid en het heerlijk diner ! We komen zeker terug !

Perfect overnight accommodation

Beautiful cottages, neat and clean and spacious. Perfect for an overnight stay on route to Cape Town. The hostess was very friendly and helpful.
