  • Be our guest in a beautiful piece of American history! Built in 1790, this log home exemplifies a page from our history books with original wood floors, walls and beams. Located just 5 minutes walk from downtown, Lincoln Square, the home was once owned by Thaddeus Stevens and sits with a front seat view of where the Confederates occupied West Middle Street during the Battle of Gettysburg. The home, while keeping it's historic character, also contains modern conveniences (central air conditioning, recessed lighting, fully updated kitchen and baths, etc.). The Thaddeus Steven's house has 3 cozy bedrooms (upstairs, 2queen, 1full) and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms. Perfect for a couple, family or group of friends! Join us in this gorgeous historical home as you explore Gettysburg! **Please keep in mind the home was built in a time, when people were smaller. Ceilings and doorways are low. The floors slant and creak. The closet space is limited. And the home may not be functional for people with certain physical mobility issues. Appreciate where you are--transported to a special time--imagine yourself in another era! Enjoy Gettysburg!

The cabin is very cute and in a great location. Not only is the cabin not very 200 years of history, there’s also a Thaddeus Steven’s museum just a couple blocks away. The owners are very welcoming and the cabin is well stocked. We will be staying there again on our next trip.

Historic log home with modern updates. Great location to walk downtown Gettysburg and close to main streets to drive to historic locations. Clean, cozy, and well stocked with kitchen utensils.Highly recommended!

As a long time, visitor to Gettysburg It was nice not to stay in a hotel. The house is full of history that if the weather is bad, you don't mind staying inside. We were there for the Gettysburg College Master's Graduation and my husband's retirement. The beds are great, Very comfortable and firm. There were enough pillows that if you wanted to us 4 you could, The shower was fabulous. The pressure and hot water are above any hotel. Staying at the house made us feel like we lived there not visiting.The hosts are great I had questions and they called me to explain things.

Had an amazing time in Gettysburg. Have been wanting to visit for sometime. The entire trip was so memorable and the Thaddeus Steven's house was a great way to complete the trip. So historic, cozy, and comfortable. The house was fully stocked with whatever we needed. There is a grocery store right across the street. All the museums, monuments, etc. are close by. Occasionally you can hear tourists outside excitedly taking pictures of the home. I was one of them. Sarah made check in extremely easy and answered all of our questions. Thank you for making Gettysburg even more memorable. I would definitely stay here again.

All the feels of Gettysburg

After a long day of touring the battlefield, this place was perfect to return to. Great location, modern amenities with an authentic, historical feel. The house was nice and cozy, the shower had great water pressure and the beds were comfy. We will stay here again!

This historical home was so lovely to stay in to go along with our History vacation. It was nice to be within walking distance to several places to eat, drink, have coffee and shop. Wonderful house with character

Had a great short stay here while exploring Gettysburg and seeing the Cadillac show near by. The house has charm and history and what else can you ask for in Gettysburg. Thank you Sarah and John for providing the opportunity bto stay here.
