Welcome to our modern 120-square-meter holiday apartment in Gevelsberg—plenty of space for up to 4 people (2 adults and 2 children), new furniture, a balcony with a view of the garden, and a quiet Daikin air conditioner that keeps the apartment pleasantly cool in the summer. Ideal for holidays, working from home, or business trips.
Guests will find one bedroom and two living rooms: one with a comfortable sleeper sofa and a flat-screen TV, and another with a sleeper sofa and a stereo system—making it easy to separate relaxation from socialising. The fully equipped kitchen features a refrigerator, dishwasher, combination oven/microwave, coffee maker, and tea maker. The modern bathroom features a shower; towels and linens are, of course, included.
For those who want to work, this place offers more than just a makeshift solution: a separate desk with office supplies, fast and stable Wi-Fi, and a dedicated monitor that can be connected to a laptop—allowing you to work with the same focus as in a home office.
After an active day cycling or exploring the nearby Kluterthöhle—Germany’s largest accessible cave—the apartment invites you to relax. In addition to a TV and stereo, there’s a small library with travel inspiration and light reading. Free Wi-Fi, public parking right in front of the building, and regular professional cleaning round out the amenities.
Its location along the Rhine-Ruhr rail line makes the region easily accessible: Dortmund via Bochum to Essen in 20–30 minutes, Düsseldorf and Cologne in 40–50 minutes. Trade shows, theatres, opera houses, sports arenas, and universities are all conveniently accessible; the airports in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, and Cologne can be reached in about 30–55 minutes, depending on traffic. The nearest S-Bahn station is just a 5-minute walk away.

Gevelsberg is located in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr region—an area with a density of cultural, shopping, and recreational opportunities that is exceptional for Germany. The trade fair cities of Düsseldorf and Cologne are just a 40–50-minute drive away, and the entire Ruhr region is even closer. Wuppertal, with its unique suspension railway and idyllic zoo, is a worthwhile destination not just for families.
A special highlight is just over a 10-minute drive away: the Kluterthöhle cave system in neighbouring Ennepetal—designated a National Natural Monument and Germany’s largest accessible cave. Instead of classic stalactites and stalagmites, you’ll find a fossilised tropical coral reef from the Devonian period, roughly 370 million years old, with marine fossils embedded in the walls. The cave air, which is virtually free of dust and allergens and maintains a constant temperature of around 10 °C, is even used therapeutically for respiratory ailments. Those who prefer a more active experience can choose one of the guided crawling and scrambling tours—complete with helmet and headlamp—through narrow passages—a real adventure for families and explorers.
Everything is also easily accessible on site: The nearest bus and S-Bahn station is about a 5-minute walk away, and Mittelstraße—with its shops, restaurants, and cafés—is about a 10-minute walk. An indoor and outdoor pool with a spacious sauna area is just a 5-minute walk away—right next to it is a mini-golf course.
Active travellers can set off right from the house: Hiking trails begin right outside the door, and by (e-)bike, you’ll be on a former railway track in just a few minutes—a route that connects to an extensive network of disused rail lines stretching all the way to the Rhineland or the Ruhr region.
