"Started off really well. One of the people from The Crown (which is part of the same group and does amazing food? spotted us walking through town and came and helped us get in the front door. Went downhill from there. The room smelt of cigarettes when we arrive and there were burns in the carpet. The bathroom was filthy. There was a layer of dirt all over the floor, to the point that I thought maybe it was the cover of the floor to start with, until I realised the white bits of floor behind the bath were still white, so it was definitely dirt. Loose bits all over it as well. Bath hadn’t been cleaned and there was dirt in the overflow waste hole on the sink. Bedding and towels were very clean luckily. Tried calling but no answer. Spoke to someone in the morning and they said the manager would contact me but they haven’t. Could’ve really lovely if they sort out the cleaning"

"The parking is great. Been here many times it is out standing. The place so clean the host is so welcoming. And always time for a chat and so help ful. Everything you need hair dryer too exceptional. Breakfast is exceptional to every choice avalible cant fault the Horseshoe guest house will be back x"

"A great place to stay. Penralley House is a 250 year old building which has been sympathetically brought to modern standards. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfasts offered a good range of choices and the cooked breakfasts were excellent. "

"Good place to stay, very clean. Ideal location, near town center. Very quiet, all had a good nights sleep. Great views from rear of property. We would stay again if we were cycling in the area again.The host is close at hand if required, (lives next door)."

"Glan Wye proved to be the perfect cottage for our stay in the Elan Valley. Very comfortable and spacious. We loved being able to sit and watch the red kites from the lounge, only criticism there would be, take a few feet off the hedge and you would have the perfect view over the surrounding area but still have privacy.We found the welcome at the Triangle Inn great, food so good we ate there three times. We also ate at The Crown (also good but felt a bit rushed and not such nice atmosphere) and The Lamb and Flag (not our kind of food or pub)"
