In winter, the Hirnkopf - Flattnitz (Glödnitz) ski area in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan with 8 kilometers of slopes and 5 lifts/cable cars is a perfect choice, the ski area is at an altitude of 1400 - 1840 meters and also offers other activities such as cross-country skiing, winter hiking and ski touring. Another ski area about 30 minutes away by car is the Hochrindl ski area in Sirnitz with 20 kilometers of slopes and 6 lifts, and the well-known Bad Kleinkirchheim ski area with over 100 kilometers of slopes can be reached in about 45 minutes by car.
